This seems to be taking the game out of the game. I'm sure it was intended that adventurers communicated with each other in-game to find the sages.

Considering that no one needed to use the forums before to find sages under the old system, something's not right.

I'm interested in feedback. If this is just a collection of sightings, it doesn't serve a good purpose. But if there would be a bit more here, like an actual effort to determine routes or histories, or likelihoods of finding a sage in certain areas - that would be cool.

Ok I planing to start a mapping page on the wiki that will try and follow the different sages by name around to track their movement habits.  If any one is interested in helping me in this task you are very welcome to do so.  I think what needs to be done first is start collecting sightings of sages such as this one.

Once we get a good amount of information on a few sages we can then start making maps of their travels and hopefully find a pattern of some kind that each one follows.

Sages disappear once you get them to try and make an item -- this, to me, leads to less cooperation between adventurers, not more. Why tell other adventurers where you've found your sage if you intend to use him?

At any rate, I don't really think sage-hunting adds any fun value to the game: you spend 2-3 ticks looking for a sage because you know one was seen in your area. Maybe you finally find him, but then you're too fatigued to meet him. By the time you have enough hours to rest and visit him, he's already left for another region.

Im in agreement that once the sage is used he leaves will lead to less cooperation between others. Sages should stay in an area for their predetermined time no matter how many adventurers use them.

It's not entirely true, though. It is not an automatism. If they pack up and leave, it is because they were already close to leaving. Interacting with them does not automatically make them leave, but it triggers a check for it. This is to prevent sage gangbangs, so to speak.
