Roleplay from Barrett Brine Erickson   (12 hours ago)
Message sent to everyone in the region Libidizedd (4 recipients)

Barrett peers through his spyglass spotting the banner of Captain Drizztle, his long time comrade and second in command of the Royal Fleet.

"I hope everyone's thirsty," Barrett announces.

His orders upon leaving were clear, last man in Libido buys the ale.

"Ay Captain!" A lookout calls, "we've spotted Admiral Karibash's banner as well."

"Well send a runner then! It's time to toast to this voyage!"

(OOC: This takes place the same night as Barrett's Roleplay. I've been up for the past 17 hours and lost my first roleplay due to the turn change)

As Drizztle's men drank with gusto, as per the Marshal's orders, he stared out into the night. In his hands he held a bottle of Red Langor; his family had brewed the delicious drink for generations on Atamara. When the island sank, he brought the recipe and the tradition with him. Motion to his left caught his attention. Captain Reikhard approached. The stern faced man saluted and stated, "Mi'Lord, I bring news. You have been named Vice-Marshal of the Royal Fleet." Drizztle was stunned. After a moment, a smile grew wide on his face. "Fantastic! Spread the news to the men." The Captain nodded his acknlowedgement of the unnecessary order. He had already passed the information along.

After letting the news sink in, Drizztle turned to his captain again. He held out the bottle and ordered, "Take this to Marshal Barrett. Give him my apologies for being late. And tell him I hope he enjoys the Red Langor." Reikhard saluted, took the bottle, and went towards the Marshal's banners. "Enjoy my friend. Another voyage, another adventure," Drizztle thought to himself.

Roleplay from Kateera McDowell   (42 minutes ago) message to all nobles of D'Hara

Kateera smiled as she signed the letter and slid it into a small envelope. On the cover, she took her time to write Baron Drizztle's name over it. She usually let the scribes do this part but today she wrote everything personally because it was a special day.

It was a miracle she had even remembered what day it was, in fact some days she didn't much care for it; they all seemed to blur together into one long and endless moment. Her weeks had been filled with so much fighting and traveling lately, she didn't really find much joy in it.

Her only comfort was that she had finally found her sea legs. She did have to thank Drizztle for his advice on the matter though, had it not been for him she may have continued her sea travels sporting the greenest of colors. At the thought, she laughed a little. Ironically, that's how she had met Drizztle in the first place, unable to settle her stomach or remember her own name, she had greeted him as best she could. It couldn't have been a worse moment on her part but he had been a gentleman about the entire affair and had done his best to put her at ease. She wished she had felt better so she could make the best of their first meeting together, though the situation made it a memorable moment nonetheless.

Since that moment she had thought of him often but she had rarely seen him. They had shared a dinner together, another time he had gone out of his way to make her smile making the moment memorable. On occasion they glanced at each other from across the battlefield since they were in the same army and followed each other across D'Hara to eradicate undead and monsters upon the streets of their beloved realm, but they hadn't spent any time together since that dinner.

She hoped he was doing well this day and even better once he received his gift. She looked to the wrapped box, and slid the letter over it and wrapped a big red bow around it. It wasn't an ideal situation, considering all the fighting still going around but they had to take a moment to enjoy what was truly important in life, if not they wouldn't really remember what they were fighting for.

Roleplay from Kateera McDowell   (40 minutes ago)

A courier delivers a box to you. It is quite long in length and narrower in width, making you curious as to what it could contain. Beneath the red big bow there is an envelope with cursive letters flowing beautifully around the letters of your name. You remove the letter and read:

Dear Drizztle,

I hope this letter finds you well. I know this isn't much, but it is dear to me and I hope one day it becomes dear to you as well. Have a merry day.

You unravel the bow and the ribbon from around the box, and open it. Inside is an elaborate long sword the glint of the metal shining in the light. The tip of the pommel is adorned with the McDowell emblem of a horse, three stars and half moon below it. As you take the weapon into your hand, you see the grip is worked expertly beneath your palm. The cross guard is worked into braided steel that dips down towards the blade itself, like claws. Upon closer inspection, you notice the fine craftsmanship of the weapon and the eerie letters worked into the metal so as to not weaken the blade. You do not understand the words engraved into the blade as they are in a foreign language. You find another note inside the box.

“The words over the blade are a sacred battle prayer, meant to ward off those who would wish you harm, and protect you. Only the bearer of the weapon should know what they mean… you must seek me out if you wish to find out their meaning for I will only speak them to you… I hope to see you soon. Kat"

Roleplay from Kateera McDowell   (9 hours, 6 minutes ago)  message to all nobles of D'Hara

The battle against the undead and monsters had Kateera filled with an incredible amount of adrenaline. The attack had been expected, since there seemed to always be an endless supply of them coming into the streets of Port Raviel. At one point she saw Sir Donte rush headlong with his infantry to clash directly with the horde. Her heart was in her throat, she could see this would not end well. She tried to scream out a warning to the other noble, but there was nothing to do, he was set on fighting. It wasn't long before the horde began cutting down his infantry unit with brute force. Many of his men fell where they stood, several others were injured. Kateera looked over her shoulder and she could see Baron Drizztle among the fray, it seemed he had not lied about his skill, he was strength and grace in his movements. She admired him for a moment but her attention was redirected towards the battlefield. She shouted orders to her men and they shot out a volley of arrows, hitting their marks.

The battle went on in this manner for some time, until the threat was completely eradicated. Without waiting, Kateera ordered her men to care for the commoners, and to offer assistance where it was needed. She didn't mind getting her hands dirty, she was a warrior and the commoners viewed them as their salvation. She mingled with the populace and offered words of consolation. She noticed a small child huddled behind a building and rushed to his side. She knelt to his height and spoke softly. “Everything is over now,” she soothed as she brushed some of her red hair over her right ear. She looked around her, to see if his parents were anywhere in sight. She picked him up in her arms and walked back towards the city square.

Drizztle surveyed the carnage of the battle. Port Raviel had survived another round of monsters. But she did not do so unscathed. After the battle had ended, he had his men assist with the clean up efforts. Moving the monster corpses out of the streets. As his men went about their grim work, he spied Dame Kateera. She seemed to be about assisting the people. 'Good,' he thought, 'see to the people of Port Raviel. They are a hardy people but they still need a strong, confident hand to keep their spirits up.' He assisted two of his men with this boar headed monstrosity when he looked back. Dame Kateera was carrying a small child towards the city square.

"Captain Werner, take over here. I'm going to assist Kateera in her efforts," Drizztle ordered. The Captain looked his lord in the eye before looking in the direction his lord he had been looking. He then saluted Baron Drizztle and said, "Yes, mi'lord. But I am sending two men with you. Best keep you safe." Drizztle briefly smiled before rushing off. He was getting close before she turned down an alley. Curious, he went to the alley. Almost immediately he was hit with something. 'Was that a piece of rock or a building?' He thought. Dame Kateera called out, "Who are you and why are you following us?" Drizztle laughed and called out, "I saw red hair carrying a child. I thought I would help you Dame Kateera. And might I say, nice aim. Hit me just above the left eye."

Roleplay from Drizztle Sharpspeare   (52 minutes ago) message to all nobles of D'Hara

Captain Werner approached the Count. "Mi'lord, we are a few hours from Paisland." The Count shrugged and simply stated "Good". The Count stared into the distance of the Sapphire Deep. Captain Werner shuffled foot to foot, uncomfortable. The Count considered how his life had changed. He started as a young knight in service to Minas Ithil, before it eventually fell due to treason. And since then, he has seen realm after realm fall. Even the island itself sank. And yet he endured. He was determined to fighting till his dying day. He was no longer a young man, but his will was still strong.

"Captain, Any word from the other members of the Royal Navy?" The Count finally asked. Captain Werner was startled from the Count's long quiet being suddenly broken. He recovered quickly though. "Nothing, Mi'lord. Nothing since the Marshal sent the orders to head to Paisland." The Count went quiet again. He had not gotten to know Sir Donte or Dame Kateera yet. He would need to remedy that. "Let me know if that changes. Now go and check on the men, I have some thinking to do." The Captain saluted and left the Count to his thinking. The Count's eyes stared at the sea as if by sheer will he could get the Sapphire Deep to reveal its secrets to him.

Kateera looked over the railing to the churning waters below and closed her grey eyes tightly. She couldn’t watch anymore. She hadn’t found her sea legs yet, but she did everything in her power to contain her discomfort. Grabbing a handful of red hair she held it to the nape of her neck and leaned over the side. How could she still be sick, she had already emptied the contents of her stomach. She was so glad she had not come across anyone in this state, she would die of mortification. It was very unladylike to say the least...

She looked around to the rest of the men on board, was she seriously the only one affected? How did they continue to laugh and joke among one another when all she wanted to do was groan her misery away. They must have a cure, they had do, and she needed to find out what it was before someone found her passed out on the deck. But first she had to... no she couldn’t move yet, just a few more minutes.

The Captain came running up. "Mi'lord, the lookout reports a ship far to starboard. We will have to get closer to make a definate determination, but the lookout believes the ship is caring one Royal Navy."

At that, Drizztle perked up. "One of ours? Hmmm..." He turned and looked his Captain in the eyes. Most men would have fidget due to that look, but not Captain Werner. Werner had served him long enough to know his lord and to know his lord perferred his Captain to strong enough to wistand a look. That was one of the reasons the dependable man was like by Drizztle.

"Get us closer and determine who is on that ship," order the Count. The Captain saluted and turned to pass the orders onto the ship captain. For the first time in two days, Count Drizztle smiled. Whether or not this ship had D'Harans or not, he would have some excitement.

As they approached Paisland, Donte realized they had made good time, too good in fact as he was ahead of the rest of the fleet. "We make camp and wait for the others." His usual playful demeanor seemed dampened. "Keep a guard up and take shifts we are in hostile lands."
He lay back and stared up at the stars thinking of the morrow and the battle to come.

She had managed to raise her head long enough to notice a ship ahead. Though her moment of calmness didn’t last very long she was back to leaning over the edge. “My Lady,” someone approached her, placing a soothing hand over her back. “There is another ship...” he managed to say before she weakly pushed him away.

“What is your secret man... how do you stand this....” that was all she managed to say.

The ship seemed to calm as the other approached but she wasn’t sure. There seemed to be a commotion on deck, and Kateera did her best to move away from the railing and appear presentable. This was not her best moment...

This is just a thread to say, any players who want to come and join Minas Nova are welcome. We are small but that just leaves room for advancement. We are currently at war with the Greater Xavax, so plenty of opportunity for battle.
