Prestige and fame acquisition

I noticed that some nobles on South Island already have high prestige and fame while the game haven't even started in earnest.
Are there some other ways to gain prestige and fame that don't require you to spend hours?

Characters from families with high fame will start with higher honour and prestige.

Also older characters have higher H/P than younger ones. Even if one starts at 17 and the other at 20. But generally in the end the younger one generally has higher H/P than the older one's starting age.

You're thinking skills. As far as I'm aware, starting age has no impact on starting honor and prestige.
