Borrowing from M&F
« Topic Start: October 20, 2016, 04:34:59 AM »
There actually are certain features in M&F that I find brilliant and worth implementing in BM.
Among them bloodlines, family trees and marriages. Why don't we have those yet?
Also character descriptions and heraldry. Is it too hard to implement?

Because BM's families are not designed to be linked like MF at the moment.

Also, the character creation process is also different.

It would be too hard to implement with the current system. But Anaris has ideas if BM were to ever be 'restarted' where player accounts would not be so tightly coupled to families, but for families to be something you are part of with other players. At this point, they are just an idea for any worst case scenarios for BM and unlikely to ever come into fruition due to the above-mentioned tightly coupled players-families code.

A sorta marriage system would be cool. Like if the ruler of a realm marries someone, the spouse becomes a royal for that realm.
Once the Daleborn family, now the Attano family.

Sometimes, things must be done not for historical realism, but for game balance. Royals cannot be banished from a realm and that is a powerful perk. Royalty generally requires enough realm support to be elected or win a rebellion, and maintaining that support for a long enough period of time. The only exception would be a duke seceding to form a new realm, but even they could lose Royal status if their new realm doesn't support them as ruler (its happened before). So I don't think its a good idea, for game balance reasons, to allow a ruler to single-handedly grant Royalty to a roleplayed spouse, as Royal status should be something the realm gets a larger say in.
