Looting regions rogue
« Topic Start: April 05, 2017, 01:43:45 PM »
Is it still feasible, or even possible, to loot a region so much that it revolts?

I believe there has been many tweaks done over the last several years with the intent of making looting damage less permanent, but I'm unsure of the result on control. Regions do seem to revolt a lot less than they used to, especially to declare anarchy.

With the increasing focus on density, though, seems like some realms could legitimately want to shrink another without actually taking the region for themselves. Do they have any means to do so?

Would a new takeover type be considered, which works just the same as a normal takeover, but makes the region rogue instead?

My issue with how this works is the oberly similar nature of hostile TOs to looting rogue.

Regions shouldn't loot rogue, they should capitulate to the looting realm. Peasants would seek shelter from one power or the other, they wouldn't suddenly betray their former masters in the face of an invader unless it was to switch sides to the invader.
By the way, would love to see you coordinate three realms without having an OOC teamspeak with everyone on it.

The issue is that the invader doesn't always want to take the region. Maybe it's not adjacent to their realm. Maybe it's very poor. Maybe they don't have enough nobles for it and taking it would actually make them poorer.

Sometimes, the invader just wants to kill all the local officials without actually putting any in their stead.

Whether this is realistic from a historical perspective is made somewhat moot by the fact that Europe, unlike BM, had no shortage of people to lead these things.
