De-Legro

Zooming in just seems to show the edit image has worse resolution. Like Perth the only difference I see is that the edited one appears to have some sort of tinting filter on it.

Same here. Perhaps we are missing something?
d'Arricarrère Family: Torpius (All around Dwilight), Felicie (Riombara), Frederic (Riombara) and Luc (Eponllyn).

Penchant

It seems to have a lower resolution true but he added shadows and lighting to it. He also adjusted how the shores are and some other coloring apects of the map which I like but maybe its just me.

We are not discussing photoshopping the existing maps, we want to re-draw them in a better editor.

Lefanis

I've started with BT- completed the South, The Isles, and the steppes around Zod. I hope to be done by the weekend.

I'm using the smallest size option given by the editor to make separate map files for each of the main regions. Hopefully, the guesstimates shall stich together.

Make sure when you are editing the map that you follow the region borders, and especially the coastlines, as close as humanly possible. Exact matches would be best. Anything that doesn't match means that all those pain-in-the-ass region boundaries for the dynamic maps need to be redrawn. I do not want to have to do that again...  >:(
If at first you don't succeed, don't take up skydiving.

Ehehe.. I'm only human ;D I cant guarantee exact matches. I'll try, but it's doubtful we will be able to reuse the exact same boundaries...

And didn't Tom mention the possibility of making the maps larger? >.>

Keep in mind that you're not actually putting the region borders on the map. Those should be put on by the game system using the region borders we've traced.

Yes, but the borders we drew will scale.

I'd like to see progress posted here, so I can give feedback.

Also: It would probably be best to use the LARGEST size in the editor, and stich screenshots together. It makes it easier to update the map if that is ever necessary if they are in one or a few files.

Do you want screenies, or the ahm files?

Screenshots. I'll ask for the source files if I need them.

I just want to make sure nobody spends two days building something and I then go and say "uh, no, totally not what I wanted".

Tom

Also, I would like to propose the Colonies as the first map to be completely redone.

There are several reasons for this. One is that it is small. The other is that it needs an overhaul anyways, and this is a good opportunity. That means there will be a few changes. The third is that it doesn't have borders like the other maps, making things easier AND meaning that we haven't yet traced borders for the new dynamic map for it, which means we don't have to do it again.

Lefanis

I've been ill and haven't gotten to it- I'll put up some screenshots today evening, or tomorrow.

The Islands of AT and BT. The borders are as close to what they are in the original map as i could make it.

Gold Panda- are you going ahead with the Colonies?
