Does anyone even use this feature? I am wondering if people actually use this feature strategically.

Lorgan

If I'd have a lot of time and gold on my hands... maybe.

Charles

In melhed there was a Duke who had a huge unit which he then augmented to appear even larger, I forget how much CS he appeared to have, I know it was well over 2kCS.

egamma

It would probably be used more often if it didn't make your repair costs increase at the same time.

Zakilevo

I think if this changes so we can change higher percentage of CS at a time, people might use it more.

Maybe every time you use it your CS changes by 5-10%? But make it cap around 25%?

Draco Tanos

Why cap it?  It doesn't REALLY change your CS, it only makes it appear you have a higher CS to scout reports and the like.

Sort of like what the Daimons do on BT.

Actually, exactly. I'm using exactly this existing game-mechanic for the effect. The only difference is that I recruit the troops that way, I don't go to the blacksmiths to have it changed.

That is what I thought. That is why I want to discuss this feature here. I think not enough people are using this feature because people believe it is too much of hassle for what it's worth. I think this feature has lots of potential :)

Ketchum

Hmm, this Modify Appearance I do not bother use it. Unless I have a generous lord who give me good tax income. Funnily though all my characters have poor lords, dukes. Maybe I should assassinate my lords and replace them myself, then put a higher tax rate  :P

This Feature looks interesting, I may consider try it in wars soon enough. Now if it is not expensive to repair the equipment, as most of my characters have poor lords, dukes, now this will open more opportunity for us to try it out :)

Tom

Agreed, I've checked it again and will update the repair costs.

Sweet.

What would be really funny is for one army to focus on making their army look super weak, and the opposing army focus on making their army look super-strong, and just have a super-surprising battle!

So what numbers does this affect, exactly? I assume it affects enemy scout reports, but what else? Your own scout reports? Region reports (from Realm and Regions Info page)? Marshal army pages? The Military Strength Stats graph?

Ketchum

Thanks Tom for your quick action. Now trying to figure out which of my character rich enough to afford this wearing rich gold coated armor :P
