Since when can you start with a cavalry unit?
« Topic Start: March 25, 2012, 07:54:18 AM »
Hey, haven't made a new noble or a while. I just made one and cavalry was a starting unit option. Didn't it used to be you needed to earn a certain amount of honor and prestige first? Does that now apply only to MI and special forces?

I made a new noble a few weeks back, didn't see that option.
The above is accurate 25% of the time, truthful 50% of the time, and facetious 100% of the time.

Maybe its colonies only or it has something to do with family fame.

It could be starting fame. But, if you choose to lead cavalry as a young noble you aren't able to lead very many. I started a new character with cavalry a couple months ago and could only recruit 10 or 15 max until I had been in a number of battles.

Unless you become a cavalier, it will be difficult to recruit over a certain number. Better to start as archers.

Family wealth might also have something to do with it, as well as fame. I know if you have a certain amount of wealth you can choose to recruit larger numbers of soldiers first starting out than you would ordinarily get. Presumably, it's also a bit more expensive to start out with Cavalry than it is with Infantry or Archers.

It is family fame.

Do you know how much family fame is required?

I can with 15, but probably less.
