Wait, what?
Do you mean you feel like actions are repetitive? Or that you're inclined to use the same strategy over and over?
I for one have had a hell of a lot of fun in my multiplayer battles. Usually myself and Nekarios of Terran play against 5-6 AIs on a huge world. Last game we got curbstomed by Greece and China (allies), then amassed our forces in the Industrial age and launched the single most MASSIVE Civ invasion I've ever seen. We fought a war of attrition, sending troops far across the ocean, until I managed to create a city on the western badlands of the Chinese continent. I got lucky and was next to a deposit of aluminium, which later helped me bombard China with troops. Once we had my city as a FOB, we began taking city-by-city, eventually wiping China from existence... Only to have Greece, some random southern nation who's name I forget declare on us, some others as well decide to gang up on us, and England starts taking pot-shots at our troops. I amassed my ridiculously-powerful navy and proceeded to clear the seas and provide logistics for Nekarios, who is always my Iron Fist in all the games we play together. We ended up nuking the random southern super-nation into nothingness, and were about to invade Greece when I lost my internet. Haven't played since, sadly.
Lately we've been playing Sword of the Stars, which is a Scifi 4X game comparable to Civ. Its a bit weird to get into at first because of the unique mechanics, but I really enjoy playing it when I'm not being murdered by alien alliances because I'm too much of an economic turtle rather than a militaristic expander.
