Vacation pausing

I am going to be away for about 8 days and I was wondering what would be better option, to pause my character or just do nothing. I have nice unit and, as I undertsand new vacation pause feature still makes you lose it. And troops could be autopaid on certain day I chose, so they would wait for me those 8 days. So seems to me that it's better to do nothing, am I right?

If you are only going to be gone for 8 days, and you can be in a safe region (capital or other fortified region) I would not pause at all. Pay your men, make sure autopay is on, and go. You will still lose any lordships or council positions, though.

Thanks for reply! I am in safe region, and I have no lordships or council positions, so no worries about that.
