Would it be possible to make a map that displays just duchies?

Alpha

I like this, but I don't know how much work it's worth. We can see the regions of any duchy as it stands.

Tom

Added to the dynamic map.

That's one of the cool things with the new map system: Adding things is a ton easier now.

This is a very very minor details, but as it stands right now it doesn't handle non-contiguous or ring duchies very well. The duchy names for "Margraviate of Tower Fatmilak" and "Candiels" and those for "Donghaiwei" and "the First Temple" overlap on the Dwilight map for example.

But, as I said, it's an extremely minor point which shouldn't overshadow how cool this map is!  :D
After all it's a roleplaying game.

Yes, and there's no easy fix for that because those positions are automatically and dynamically calculated.

This. Is. Awesome.

Seeing the map in Duchy mode made me drool like a dog just imagining a system where these duchies were all independent, small realms vying for control over one another and trying to vassalize each other.

But, regardless of that, it's freaking cool all by itself.

How are duchy colors assigned? Is there any way a duke could get to select that?

Too much variants of green colors in the same zone...

They're randomly generated

Reload the page and you'll get new random colours. :-)

No reason for it other than this being the quickest way to do it, and without different colours it would be much harder to see where each duchy begins and ends.

One thing you might want to change depending on how important you think characters not knowing the Zuma's borders are is it shows their duchies which shows their borders. Otherwise it looks great and may be able to help with roleplay too.

I found something better... press both 'realm' and 'duchies' and it makes things much better to look at... More I look at the duchies map the better it gets...

Why would you not want your character to know that? presumably your character knows what regions are Aurvandil's, Barca's, Terrans, and Asylon's. The area in between all those belongs to the Zuma (or is a rogue region that the Zuma wouldn't like you marching an army into).

Or, you know, if you live in any of those realms you basically just know, "Hey, all that awful burnt-out wasteland over there surrounding the huge menacing Volcano, Evil Dark Tower, and Ancient Stronghold of Sacrifice? Yeah. Zuma land."
