The upload is generally fine as it is. Unless you're uploading a seriously large file, or in some strange format. I've uploaded some pretty large pictures, as JPEGs, PNGs, I think I might have done one in PSD. What exactly are you having trouble achieving with the normal wiki upload?

The biggest problem with upload to our or any other wiki, is your internet connection. Some connections have very poor upload speeds and more importantly, the upload traffic tends to drop out frequently. When trying to upload a large file rather then just sending HTML page request, that can cause issues. However if you don't have a problem with uploading to other sites, like dropbox, it could be something else.

I've been trying to upload an image but i get this message: File extension does not match MIME type.

I didn't have any problems with this before and I've uploaded a bunch of images to the wiki already.

Any ideas how to resolve this?

What is the file extension?  .gif?  .png?  .jpg?  .bmp?

There are generally no tricks required. If you have trouble, we need as much details as possible - your browser (including version number) and what kind of file (image format and extension) you are trying to upload.

I've re-manipulated the image again with Gimp and managed to upload it.. It all works fine now. Thanks :)

You may be uploading a file that has the wrong extension. Like a jpg that someone has renamed to gif or somthing. Many programs may open it correctly anyway, some may not. You may be able to tell by checking the image properties with a program like xnview or irfanview.
If at first you don't succeed, don't take up skydiving.
