Any character you send to your family home will have a mother who still looks good in her later years, even if you are 80+. Everyone has an uncle who likes sharing info. And everyone has a generous aunt.

Man, the life of a family member before being called into active service by a Beamer is pretty bland...

Mars years Earth years deal? When on Mars be as the Martians are... and use their calendar.

Game years conversion to real years is something I only vaguely understand. Is it 1:1? But seasons aren't 1:1 and unless BM universe has multiple suns or really complex stuff going on in its atmosphere then that is a bit weird. It is also possible that a BM year isn't just one revolution around the sun.

This has been discussed a lot before. The age rating that the game gives to your characters is an indication of their age, something like the test you can do in RL to see how your life style has affected your relative age. It isn't a direct age for your character, since things like wounding etc speed up the aging process.

i.e. if your character is classified as "80 years old", you can expect him to have difficulty walking fast and to need a nap in the afternoon. This can be either because he has actually lived for 80 years, or that counting his scars in the morning takes 3 hours each day (and he has to recount them, his long-term memory is toast).
After all it's a roleplaying game.

Indeed, my back of the envelope calculations suggest that Gregor, despite having the health of a 91 year old, is really only about 80 years old!

I wonder what would happen when someone hits 100 years old. Should have some special event? :)

I'd be curious to see how you figured that.  It appears that his latest critical wounding added a year in relatively short order.  For a long time (aka the year or so that I bothered to keep track) he aged just as fast as Serko and Norel.  I was curious since I was putting dates into the family tree on the wiki page for births and deaths.

I think we'd worked it out (we being Stuart and I) that you normally age 1 year every 90 days or 3 months or so.  It was some nice round number like that.

Well, I worked off http://wiki.battlemaster.org/wiki/Calendar which says that characters age a "year" every 6 weeks. Battlemaster started in 2001/2 from what I'm told, so I presumed that Gregor was roughly nine RL-years old. That works out to roughly 470 weeks, which divided by 6 gives about 78. Round numbers are nice, so I called it 80.

Well, if you count it as a full turn of the seasons (three weeks per season, four seasons per year, obviously), then it's 12 weeks to a BM year.  This seems to be about right for at least a couple of characters that I've watched.

Bah, that's nothing! Hang has the health of a 68 year old despite being only 43!

That can't be right. The aforementioned Hang would be only 21 years old under that system...
Born in Day they knew the Light; Rulers, prophets, servants, and warriors.
Life in Night that they walk; Gods, heretics, thieves, and murderers.
The Stefanovics live.

No, he'd be 21 years older than whatever age he started at.
