The Knight of Ni

If a judge executes a person and then that person recreates the character with the same name claiming they were resurrected is that against the game rules?

Kinda. The ages won't match up and roleplaying magic un-did your age is not really allowed.

It is stupid, idiotic and deserves to be ridiculed in all imaginable forms. Heck, meet me in a fitting mood and I just might lightning bolt that character.

Tom

In a less demagogic manner, the game mechanics define the truth of the game world, and the game mechanics clearly say that this is a new character (because he has a "began his career" family history entry) as well as that the old one is dead.

So, I would treat this in-game as exactly what it is: Someone from the same family with the same first name who claims to be the resurrected dead guy. Obviously, he's a bit nuts or something.

Perth

Yeah everybody just needs to ridicule him and call him a mad man. Problem solved.

Clearly he's confessing to witchcraft.

Execute him.

He is not claiming reincarnation, he is claiming resurrection. Totally different things.

Not that I know of. Usually they will be named no.2 or no.3 if the player has sentiment with its character name. Unless the executed person is still alive although they had been executed by the Judge. This is caused by a game bug where we play along with the bug like what happen to one character on East Continent.

Quote from: Sanctus AciesWe believe that part of the soul will never make it to the "Hall of Heroes" but that part will be reborn in a cycle of life being added to your family when a new Noble comes forth to take your place, certain memories and actions will be the same as the family member departed.
They claimed that as reincarnation, but it sounds like resurrection/crazy family member claiming to be a dead man to me.

Sanctus Acies was always one of those weird "godless religions". It was founded as Caligus' state religion to hold back the Church of Ibladesh, just as Church of Humanity was formed to do the same for Perdan. It's just as well that Sanctus Acies died due to lack of interest. Once Dunkontology and Church of Ibladesh died, it had no purpose to exist. While my character was in it, it was almost completely silent and unused. I *think* there may have been one character that claimed some kind of resurrection/reincarnation or something like that. That kind of thing was not uncommon in BattleMaster 5 or 6 years ago. People were recreating characters all the time when they left the game and then came back with a "new" family.
If at first you don't succeed, don't take up skydiving.

Again, solution to all of this:

Call them a witch. Ban and execute.

We really don't appreciate the utility of witchburning in modern society... but it's really kind of a catch-all.

He said if he was in a bad mood he might, ie, it won't actually happen he is just using it to use how against it he is.
