It doesn't seem like it. Until there are ways in game to record a lot of game-history, I think there should be an occasional call to trifle with the wiki for posterity's sake.

I updated mine some time ago, but I have no time to continue doing it like in the past. Also, I doubt there's someone to read.

A few details here and there go a long way, while only requiring the time for a coffee break every few months. A thousand things may have happened while king, but a blurb "King of Wikipolis during x war" helps those who didn't see it enjoy its history.
