Buy rogue regions?

Thought I had read you could no longer do that, but I see the option at the moment.

I have a vague memory that this was mentioned some time ago and the answer was that it leads to an error... but I'd wait for someone with a definitive answer.

Been confirmed in game you cannot purchase rogues. If that's the case, they should really clean up the menu links, as if you are a Lord it tells you to step down first before trying to purchase. Would suck to step down from your seat and then find out the whole thing is a leftover bug.

Please report it as a bug - then it should get fixed.

Make this a "buying region" thread instead.

I had opportunity to buy a smaller region with no lord, but no option to buy a city/stronghold region (with no lord).

Are there different criteria?

Logically it would cost less to corrupt a smaller region then one with a greater population, so perhaps you simply lack the wealth to attempt it with the other region.

would it block it as an option, though? I thought it would just tell me how much & say I don't have enough.

you may be right on that, though. makes sense at least

EDIT: I think that must be it. different char just wandered into a smaller region and sees the option there

Otherwise would not every character see the option at all times?

Some options disappear when you don't meet the requirements. Heroes moving the family mansion, for instance. When you don't have the option, it's not even listed on the page. When you have the option, but not enough gold on hand, it appears in the "Things you can't do section" as a disabled option, where most people miss it. But if you manage to get enough gold before sunrise, then it moves to the "Things you can do" section.

Other options, like civil work, always appear. You don't find out if you can actually do it until you click the "Do civil work" button, only to be told that you can't do it after all.

Ideally, you should only be presented with links for things that you can actually do, with a short blurb about why you can't do the things you can't do. (Except for those options that we have chosen to hide when they are not available, like moving the family mansion, or heroes telling tales.)
If at first you don't succeed, don't take up skydiving.

Wait, is it really heroes only? We'd been discussing this in Talerium recently.
