Do people even use carts? It slows your unit down slightly if I remember it correctly just like siege engines.

Sacha

They're really only ever useful if you have 90% wounded men in your unit. And even then, just get a few healers and wait a turn and most of them will be up and running again.

Zakilevo

I never found carts useful myself. I am not sure if carts should be removed or should be changed to make them more useful.

Wimpie

I just stock myself with healers, never recruit Carts anymore.

Just thought of chip in my thoughts.

I never use cart. Never ever. Because it slowdown the travel.

If you wish for players to use cart, easy. Make the Cart has more higher rate of healing than Healers.

If I remember correctly, carts also improve your looting amounts.

I'm fairly sure you recall that correctly!  ;)

I do sometimes use carts exactly for the reason Tom just mentioned, you get to loot more.

*Or it has something to do with the fact that I didn't know they slow down travel and I thought they could actually be usefull...hmhm

Carts slowing down travel is news to me. And after a quick codesearch, I do not see that, or being able to loot more. I do see travel reduction with wounded men and a unit morale bonus.

Zakilevo

If Cart only speeds wounded people up and increase morale slightly then it is not worth keeping around I feel. No one gets it for that. Also, when you no longer have enough men to carry stuff, your men ditches siege engines before carts. It is usually better not to carry it.

I think it needs to be reworked to be more useful or just be removed to reduce redundancy. Why have something that speeds up wounded  soldiers when you can carry more healers to just heal wounded soldiers faster?

Vita`

So people can make different choices. Whether for flavor or strategic reasons. Carts just cost buy price, not weekly, right? Healers are pricey. Maybe that matters for some?

Constantine

Healers heal wounded soldiers. So they actually save you money if you expect some fighting.
Carts cost you money, slow you down and give you pretty much non-existent benefits.
I think I would contemplate using them if they indeed impacted looting. But in their current state I don't see them as "just a choice" because they are essentially just a trap for the noobs and ill-informed players.

Why are you insisting that carts slow you down after it was just mentioned that was not seen in the code? It gets frustrating to even bother explaining things when people just ignore what is said and repeat themselves. Now, its entirely possibly I missed it and they in fact do, but I did try to look carefully, so if you could please suggest why you insist they do in fact slow you down, it would be helpful.

Constantine

That's what my mentor told me a while ago. I guess it's a myth then.
There in fact a lot of confusion among players who do not frequent the forums.
