Message option: Foreigners to - all / some foreign ruler(s)

I just discovered that some of my characters have that message option (the ability to send message to foreign rulers) while others don't, what is up with that?

Even on the same island, one has it and the other doesn't.

You have to have a certain amount of honor before they become available to you. I forget the exact amount. You can probably get pretty close if you compare your characters. 10 maybe?

You mean prestige right? ah! That makes sense. All my chars are newly started. I think it is 5 prestige then. The chars that have 11 and 5 can do it, the 2 with 3 prestige each can't.

Now when I think of it, it could be honor too as you said. But not 10. 20 is my bet then.
