It's also far away from all military conflict that could possible be happening. Thalmarkin for one is still actively looking for nobles!

True Obia'Syela may never have the 'standard' military experience. You will be fighting rogues for now, I foresee longer distance assault and looting runs in the future, but not the traditional wars. On the other hand it has a unique experience in terms of character building, a lot of roleplay and a faith that is quickly growing with several priests already.

So in this case both are right, it depends on what you're looking for.
