you sure? i think you are supposed to be able to re-read any and all messages you've already received (ie.. everything apart from the ones blocked out by wounds)

They will be there, but not displayed in "new" messages. Meaning that unless you tell the game to show all the messages since you got captured, you won't have them prop up again and are likely to forget answering them.

Mind you, you can now mark all these messages you want to reply to, so it's not as bad as before.
