Helpline / account recovery from defunct email?

I started playing battlemaster probably 15 years ago now.  I took a considerable hiatus, but am interested in returning.  Unfortunately, the email account I used to start my account has been long since defunct, so recovering a password on my own has proven impossible.  While I'm happy to start over, I'd much rather not start from scratch if possible (if the old account even still exists).  Any guidance would be welcome.

I have a question regarding the implications and flavor of duels. 

If a duel challenge is issued and accepted, then later forfeited, should the duel be considered won by the party that did not forfeit the duel?  Or should it be treated as though it never happened?
