That was my experience there as well; hence why my character their emigrated. Seemed to have a pretty strong OOC clique; like Eston before the Treaty of Hawthorne.

See, what bothers me is that it just doesn't exist. The only OOC messages I ever really write rarely talk about actual in game events. Yes, there is a pretty tight group of IC connections where behind the scenes planning takes place, but Edmund usually makes sure to filter down anything that is sure to happen or needs to be agreed upon by the realm with the Great Debate Hall, which exists for that very reason.

If your character felt they were being excluded I'd welcome suggestions on how we can improve accessibility for the realm for everyone involved.

But part of that might be down to the fact that Kindara seems to follow a policy of OOC excluding people they don't like.

If Malos did something IC aside from scream about how unfair his life is and about how mean the world is while saying how he plans to bring down the most influential nobles in Kindara that arent currently tied to his church he'd likely be included in things again. When all you do is shout at people IC you shouldn't be surprised when other characters don't particularly care to deal with you. Even if you don't like other characters, not acting like an entitled jerk every time you speak tends to get you farther.

The only OOC grudge I hold against you is your apparent inability to separate OOC and IC while the rest of us are happy to do so. Edmund just thinks Malos is an idiot and has yet to be proven wrong in game, so he ignores him. Considering the fact that half the realm council belongs to the Church of Humanity, you claim of OOC prejudice kind of falls flat.

I've played on every continent, though a majority of my time has been spent in Atarmara, FEI, and to a lesser degree Dwilight/Buleterra.

Based on all of my experiences as a whole, I guess I'd say Dwilight? I had the hardest time finding a niche there that actually seemed fun and then once I did the reason why I liked the character essentially ended when the trading game changed. Of course, it was probably for the best considering what happened with the realm I was in.

I have a love/hate relationship with Atamara.

I agree with this and that opinion was formed Pre-Heorot so I'm not just being a sore loser. I've played on Atarmara since Day One and had some amazing experiences. Things also crazy stagnated and I'm not a huge fan of how the power is distributed, though they've earned it so they're welcome to it until it changes for better or worse.

Colonies is too slow for my tastes, but I never had a bad experience there. I didn't play on EC long enough to actually get a feel for it, but it was the only time I played an infiltrator and that was an interesting experience. Buleterra was a lot of fun since I got to play in the early invasions until my hero died, so no qualms there either.

I don't think I've ever not had fun on FEI that I can recall. Even when it's boring, it's not terrible, and I've enjoyed playing with most of the people I've played with there over the years, particularly with my second character.

Thanks for sharing that RP with us.

I'm a bit shocked honestly. I never thought I'd see Alpha die.  :'(

Actually, I'm pretty sure all the realms currently involved were willing to attack BoM except Talerium. Caergoth just wanted some action, Minas Leon wanted Brackhead, Rieleston wanted to help the CE, and Lyonesse... I think was going to take a small segment of lands? Might be wrong on Lyonesse.

As ironic as it is, Heorot may have saved the Barony. We'll see...

All those reasons make more sense then they wanted Kerwin dead. They all wanted something, obviously, but it wasnt Kerwin or war with BoM should've happened sooner.

I'd be surprised if BoM lasts much longer after Heorot falls given how easy it would be for all parties currently involved just to shift their focus and go after BoM after Heorot is done with. Given that I have no idea who Arnor is trying to negotiate with, though, I can't say for sure.

Not a whole bunch, myself. They're fragments of Eston that the Empire carved up. Im pretty sure most of them are planning on joining back up, or have factions that plan to, once the treaty forcing them to stay apart is over. Though I know some are working with other goals in mind in the former Eston pieces too.

Darka is fighting the Empire! The last ones doing it too though for how much longer before peace happens, I dont know. Technically, the problem with Atarmara is that once the Empire has won the Empire almost sort of is Atamara at that point. Im curious how that will all turn out.

Yeah, Heorot is dead. We're down to a rural and two cities. Well, my character is wounded so that may have changed, but I'm fairly certain Makar hasnt fallen yet and Brackhead is still there.

Sordnaz autopaused, I believe, around the time Heorot split off and another character is ruler now. I'm not sure what he record was, but he was ruler pretty much uninterrupted, save for a few other autopause situations, for years.

If I were to play on Atamara after this, I'd check out Darka since they always sounded fun personally. That or the Empire itself. They've always been big and influential, so there could be something there worth checking out.

Heorot was just unlucky enough to have both Kerwin (Rieleston's issue) and Brackhead (Minas Leon's issue).

Fair enough. I knew Brackhead was the apple of Minas Leon's eye. I think the rumors that Sordnaz was planning to hand Brackhead over to them was one of Duke Salem's reasons for joining Heorot anyway.

That made me chuckle, considering that Kerwin is partly to blame for their destruction.  Sure Rieleston would have likely gotten involved at some point, but Kerwin's presence in Heorot sealed (RP-wise) Rieleston's early involvement.

I still don't buy that reason. Were all of the realms currently destroying Heorot planning to attack the Barony? Considering how much time he spent in the Barony just before the split, it didn't seem such a pressing issue for everyone before Heorot was formed. Or was someone making plans to kick Kerwin out of BoM?

BoM fragmented when Makar seceded to form Heorot.

Then Minas Leon, Talerium, and all three of the Eston fragments went to war with Heorot. Heorot bombed horribly, with BoM taking some of their lands back.

This. Heorot was formed because Ender was tired of following a ruler who didn't say much (Though I totally love Sordnaz's player, in game is gets hard to justify character wise) and fighting a war we weren't really told why we were still fighting. Enough people agreed to form the realm with the hopes of creating a more lively version of the Barony.

I dont know how much has changed in BoM since I left, but things were stagnant for the most part. Some of the people in power are the same people who were part of the group of people who sit there, say nothing except when something really spectacular happens or if they autopaused out of lordship and felt they had to have it back, and then withdraws into the shadows, so who knows if anything is going to change at this point.

If we could have a Newsletter with some news, some changes in the features, like one per month, I also think people would like and we could even have some old players back.

This is a nice idea. At the very least it's another way to notify people of changes in the game beyond the log in screen.

There used to be emails back in the day about the game and then I think for roleplays, wasn't there?

BM General Discussion / Re: Why Multi's are bad
« on: May 01, 2013, 08:02:34 PM »
While I think mutli-cheating just to experience all of the continents is the entirely wrong way to go about experiencing what the game as to offer, I can say that it would be nice if some sort of system was devised to allow newer characters to get a feel for what continent would suit their play style best.

My first three characters went to different continents and when they moved on, my fourth character went to two new continents. My fourth character also hopped realms until I found one I more or less enjoyed. Having that option for a newer person who might otherwise leave the game because the realm they picked isnt ideal would be nice.

As for multi-cheating itself, I think Indirik summed up some of the reasons why it's a nasty thing nicely. Multi-cheaters also tend to implode eventually, it seems, and drag an awful lot of people who weren't aware that it was going on down with them.

I think I was going to buy one of them, but that happened, I think, around the same amount of time I started writing and receiving way more letters than usual and I was getting busier in real life.

I randomly remembered a few weeks after and felt bad that I'd forgotten to go through with a deal. So, if I was one of them, my apologies!

Between about 7 pm-12am US eastern, for me, Battlemaster typically runs much slower than it does earlier in the morning and afternoon. Last night was much slower than usual and I didn't bother trying to log in after a few clicks.

BM General Discussion / Re: Long Distance Wars Impossible?

Dwilight seems like a bunch of cantankerous old folks bickering sometimes.

I thought the changes to the code that made long distance wars so tough was years ago, maybe pre-Dwilight (though I'm fuzzy on when it was created). I know it's what ended proper Viking raids.
