I don't like the return moves only thing. There's a bigger army that just beat them in the same region. Surely they can deal with it. I've never seen purposely losing a battle to move into the next region ever being used.

Officially? No idea. Unofficially I know of a few from years ago, though the players as far as I am aware no longer play.

Cool just wanted to make sure we weren't all discussing theoretical people.

People seem ok with bestiality, so maybe we can just specify the rape is nonhuman.

For reasons including those I stated above, I think that the Duke position is currently the worst in the game. I wouldn't be surprised if this entire thread originated from someone complaining about a Duke appointment. The power:effort ratio of the position is like an order of magnitude higher than any other.

While it is true that leadership is the primary skill of TLs, weapon skill is required not only for self defence, but to gain the confidence and respect of their troops.

At the risk of diluting the above point, some possible solutions:

* small chance of gaining appropriate skill during a training session, which is gold and time inefficient compared to academy.

* tweak battle skill gains. I think a character who fights a reasonable battle every week should have the appropriate skill around 50%, not ~20 as it is now.

The ratio of the amount of destruction and the amount of good that can be caused by a Duke is so lopsided that I cannot help but think that these assurances mainly point towards the former.

It wouldn't be a problem at all if all positions were relatively even in effort:$$$/glory/power ratio. For example, I don't care at all if someone uses their family name to become a General or Marshal, because it's a difficult role. But someone who gets parachuted into the Duke seat has more power than the King, thousands of gold per week, is practically unimpeachable, and doesn't have to do anything.

There is a fundamental difference when a "family member" is the same player. IRL a family member is an independent individual, and while cronyism exists, it does not compare at all to knowing that you are appointing the same actual person to a position. Therefore, OOC criticisms are inevitable and, to some extent, legitimate.

Title:
Allow recruiting <5 men if it would max out your unit size.

Summary:
If the number of recruits is the maximum for your honour limit then the game will let you recruit it.

Details:
If you attempt to recruit a number of men equal to the maximum that you can according to your honour, then it will work.

Benefits:
You will be able to reliably recruit up to the most men you can command. At the moment the game does not tell you when this will be; the max indicated can be due to gold, so you recruit, but then afterwards you get more gold but now you are at max-4 men = noooooooooooooooooo

Possible Downsides/Exploits:
The aliens will come to kidnap us.
