For all your Phantaria ranting needs.
To start us off: Rebellion in Phantaria (2 hours, 48 minutes ago)
A rebellion is breaking out in Phantaria. Earlier today, Escent Noble has called for an uprising against the current government. Details are still sketchy.
Which explains the "where is Escent?" mystery on Atamara although I am sure plenty knew he left.
-
I saw that happen, and was happy to know he's still around somewhere.

That was my thought as well as he was a very enjoyable character meaning he seemed like a great player as well. I am certainly curious why he went to Phantaria.
Unfortunately the rebellion is lame ( its not very important info for the why but its certainly not public info thus I would prefer those who know the reasoning to keep it to themselves until the info has had more time to travel). Well the info is now rather public so I dont care if anyone wants to post about the reasoning for the rebellion.

Huh. That explains why the name seemed familiar to me.
Twitchy 'deport' finger.

Hireshmont arrives in Phantaria just in time for the realm to collapse.
Let's see if we can save this one, or if Hireshmont's kiss of death repeats itself...

Kiss of death. No doubt about it.

Asylonian bear hug .... Muhahahaha
-
Go join Asylon, will ya?
-
He did, albeit unintentionally. Didn't they ban him?

Shouldn't let that stand in his way.

They did.
But I'm wondering what happens if I change allegiance to Asylon.

I don't think you can. I think I tried it before, and the game wouldn't let me.
-
Yeah, you can't just join them outright. There may be a bug or two that could cause it. But it's not supposed to be possible to join a realm from which you are banned.

just out of curiosity, what made Phantarias capital revolt apart from the rebellion its self?
Did it also have food problems, a horrible lord for some time or what happened?

The capital revolted? Ah, that's why they are all talking of the death of the realm, haha.
More and more realms appear to just die by themselves, these days...

According to the dynamic map ingame Phantaria is a 2 region realm now...

Starvation and widespread regional mismanagement. The realm really lacked any clear sense of purpose.
-
The wrath of the Stars has been blighted upon Phantaria! (At least that makes for good PR)

"We can't win a war, so lets take credit for the gross incompetence of others!" :p

Well when you say it like that...
-
Well, Escent did his best to try and save the realm. But too little too late. I think the realm was doomed by the changes to the food/gold balance portion of the game.
As a side note... The best part of the rebellion was that an infiltrator got to become a King of a realm! And, thanks to lady Sarwell helped Escent to become the first infiltrator king to carry out an assassination.
Oh, and yeah, phantaria is one for the history books.

It has actually happened before. The first King of the Kingdom of Alluran on BT, back in late 2006, was an infiltrator. I'm fairly certain he was quite active as an infiltrator, as we were in a heated war with Luz de Bia.

Yea, but he bought the region to secede it. Wasn't even part of his realm at first, I think.

Umm... yeah. So what different does that make? I mean, none of that changes anything that I said. He was an infiltrator, and king, and stabbed people, all at the same time. And he did it 7.5 years ago. That's really the only point I was trying to make.
What was really funny is that this was back in the time of invisible infiltrators. So our king was invisible. But you could still track where he was inside our realm, because every morning his location was noted on the region report due to the ruler's regional loyalty bonus. :p

It also made him get two positions on the continent simultaneously, I believe. Or was that something later?
I don't recall infils being eligible for government positions, at least in the days.
-
They were not eligible for positions. There are some loopholes, though. Secession being one of them. The Psyche family did not hold two council positions at the same time, though. That was Dead_Angel later on that seceded Eylmon from Luz de Bia to form the short-lived Caras Galadhon. Dead_Angel had another character who was ruler of Avalon (I think?). Dead_Angel3, or some such. He was able to get two ruler positions on BT by having one ruler, and then seceding a city in a second realm, thus becoming ruler of that realm as well.
It didn't last long, though. Dead_Angel faced his judge, Benjen, in a duel to the death, and was killed. Caras Galadhon only lasted a week or two longer, before we killed it.

Ah, yes, good memory there.

Wiki. :)

Omg I miss the days when infiltrators were invisible. I've always disagreed with the logic that was used to justify that change.

Noooooooo! :'(
-
Well, when a small realm sits around doing nothing out of fear of being crushed...people get bored and leave. One must keep a realm actively doing *something* for it to survive.

Its not like there was a war that it's allies were in with Phantaria having about no chance of being attacked that it could have joined....wait a second, there was. :P
Yeah not trying to be a jerk to Phantarian leadership but I don't get why they didn't help D'hara in war. It made sense IC and OOC as it gave them something to do and they were helping their allies.

There was that whole D'hara trying to steal regions that Phantaria had obvious claim to, and Pierre lying about Phantaria giving their blessing to it. I wouldn't have helped D'hara in Phantaria's shoes.
-
Indeed - on an OOC level, there was plenty of reason for Phantaria to war for or against D'hara. Not trying to sidetrack into another us vs them discussion, just pointing out that they had at least three to four choices for war off the top of my head with a reasonably low risk for Phantaria. Personally, Luria invested a lot of effort into Phantaria from multiple angles. The only response was 'i dunno, it seems risky' or failing that, silence. And Seoras himself had loverly counter-arguments for those 'risks'. Then when Phantaria finally started to wake up, it was apparently too late.
I think this is something more realms need to learn from as they die from apathy - start a war; its worth the risk and the point of playing the game in the first place. If you die in war, it beats sitting around reading game mechanic reports where you were slowly dying anyway from playing it safe/boring players away from the realm (or worse, the game).
