Feature Requests / Re: Title System - Achievement System
« on: March 27, 2019, 12:58:10 AM »
YES!

Maybe could use a bit of revision or oomf but this is something we need.

Zakky already made some kind of recognition for battle but unless a player manually keeps track of it (which is a chore), it's doesn't get recognized.

Some sort of automated achievement will definitely attract people. And people will leave less often if they have more achievements. It's a chore to start over and gain the same achievements again so maybe something like this and maybe something more will deter people from deleting accounts and starting over again.

The more we add, the better is in my opinion.  ;)

Something tells me people have a problem with Astrum recruiting and it's giving a bad vibe. The point of this whole thread is to recruit to fix these issues.

Right.

Which is a reason why we are recruiting.

Chenier,

That's one reason why were are looking to recruit because we are stuck at our noble cap.

Astrum didn't want Caiyun, taking it was just in response that Morek didn't want it. We are extremely loyal to SA, obviously more so than any other realm.

And Donghaiwei isn't necessarily the only option. ;)

Sorry to say this but nobody in Astrum really liked Antigone. That's probably why Nosferatus had a bad experience. You are correct that it's been a while since Astrum did some looting but we would like to do more.

Medron didn't create this post so that everyone could point out the flaws of the past. He made this post to point out what's happening now. Nobody has to come back but maybe those new to Astrum would be curious enough to try it and form their own opinions.

I can think of a couple global events over the years that never happen because other events superseded them, most notably a war between Astrum and Arnor. The week it was going to happen was the week of the second monster invasion and that discouraged a couple players enough to leave the game because they worked so hard for that war.

Here's something Astrum has over all the other realms: The time I was ruler, Astrum was in more wars than any other realm during that whole time (7 or 8 ), and we won all of them (Thanks for the couple wins Zakky;)). The wars against Morek, Avernus, Luria Boreal, Westfold, Sol, and Swordfell had a lot of participation and blew up the Sanguis Astroism message channels. Wars in other realms don't happen as frequently.

I must say, some things have changed since Zakky last played in Astrum (which was almost a year ago) except the banker position but we can easily change that.  ;D

Our high ranking players have been more active lately and we are ready for a war. Come prove yourself and get ranked on the Astrumite Wall of Glory! ;)

Development / Re: Can we cut Dwilight some slack now?

Really, I don't like any of it. Players are being punished for trying to play the game. It's not the players' fault that we have so few players. We should be thinking of other ways that doesn't hinder the players.

I would like to point out that this forces people to make decisions they don't want to make. This is a game and should be a lot of options for people to feel good about their characters. Over the months we have lost quite a few players (autopaused) because of this constant grinding of monsters (and how many wars?). Is it so bad that people want to keep their realms alive? Why do characters have to completely change their realm and in some cases go against historical or traditional reasons just to fulfill this quota or face elimination? The lesser of the two evils would be just to pick a few realms and completely remove them then let players suffer or lose interest. Dragomir would rather die than to lose his home which a lot of people think the same way. Instead of making a decision they don't want to make, they leave the game. A better option that I am in favor of would be to just let realms thrive and allow more player to player interaction. People were excited of the things about to happen until the bug was fixed and ruined some people's plans and I had to see them leave the game.

One question I do have is why isn't this a realm to realm circumstance? Morek Empire has a 6:1 noble to region ratio and they are the worse off. Arnor has a 3.5 to 1 ratio and they are just as bad. Everyone else is doing better then them when almost half the realms on the continent have 2.5 or less noble to region ratio. The Lurias have an unfair advantage as a lot of players moved their characters there for OOC reasons a while ago to make a fun interactive place leaving all other realms to get pummeled by monsters. I can't blame players for wanting a more fun environment but I gotta say that this whole thing is unbalanced and realms like Arnor and Morek have suffered enough when they are well inside the intended ratio. Just remove them if that was the intention or throw them a bone if it wasn't.

Feature Requests / Re: Remove magic from EC (Stable)
« on: May 26, 2018, 02:33:15 PM »
I am in favor of limiting what magic can do.

Completely moving fortifications and buildings is in my opinion over powered. Damaging them I think would be more balanced and even constructing new buildings wouldn't be as bad. I think maybe the whole magic system needs to be redesigned. I don't want to take away from the fun adventurers get with magic but adventurers are commoners and shouldn't be the deciding factor or a huge influence of how an entire continent ends up.

Maybe have a list of options adventurers are allowed to do with portal stones and they choose what option(s) they want to see happen. Chances of success could vary depending on what the adventurer wants to do. And/Or maybe have magic available without portal stones and only have the stones to make portals but still have limitations or options an adventurer can do. I am sure there are other systems that can be made up better than what we have now and even better than what I thought of.

Even though I have a character on the side that benefits from the most recent events on EC, I sympathize with the players now at a severe disadvantage.

Helpline / Re: Buying region, region was poached?
« on: February 12, 2018, 12:30:41 AM »
When I attempted it on a different continent, I think I remember the description you get was informative enough that if time was against you, you should buy the region now. In this recent situation, I would have to agree that you should have bought the region now and not the other option. I forget exactly how the description was worded but I understood it enough to come to that conclusion. If it's not clear enough to others then maybe it should be changed. Can someone post the actual words of the action here to examine?

I'm interested but it depends on the continent.

BM General Discussion / Wounds from a training match.
« on: April 05, 2017, 09:00:41 PM »
So I understand that a duel to the death will likely lead to death and a duel to surrender can lead to serious wounds and possibly death. It makes sense.

I have a character that has so far been seriously wounded for 4 turns and wounded for 1 turn from a training match. I have been unable to play that character for 5 turns straight and don't know if I can play that character for the next few turns.

Is this suppose to happen? It's a training match after all. I can understand the possibility of light wounds but being unable to play for 5+ turns straight is terrible. I challenge newer players to training matches. What if they were the ones that got wounded and couldn't play for 5+ turns? They could possibly quit the game because they couldn't play the game.

Can I make a request that training matches have no chance of death and serious wounds and a low chance of light wounds?

Dwilight / Re: The End of Ecclesial Sanguoastroism
« on: March 29, 2017, 01:04:09 PM »
Sorry for the late response. I don't usually explore the forum.

This did happen in Sanguis Astroism. We did find a priest although we'll be scrambling for a new priest again should this one leaves for in or out of character reasons.

There used to be quite a few priests back in the day but it's gotten to be a less popular class.
