Title: Siege of Taselak
Post by: Zakilevo on May 28, 2015, 06:52:05 AM
What a battle.
Sandalak,Ikalak vs Taselak
4760 men vs. 3350 men

2313 men dead vs 1733 men

Both sides lost roughly half and the battle ended as a draw.

It is also the largest recorded battle on the wiki ;)

I really, really wish that nobles being wounded or captured or killed were easier to see in the battle report. As it is it's actually kind of harder to see that text with it's different colour.

Hell of a battle though! Much glory. EDIT: I am surprised that no one was killed.

Yeah. To be honest Grey doesn't cut it... Why not just display them with red or green or some color that stands out.

I always use ctrl+f and highlight all on my unit name :) still not ideal but it helps

It would also be nice to know what realm someone who is wounded or captured is from too, I don't always remember which regions belong to whom (especially when they change hands so much) or even the names of other people (every week or so someone is autopaused in Morek or Cagil, I usually have no idea whom they are). That is of much less importance than the other stuff though.

Yeah I do that too, sadly I did not hurt anyone besides peasants :(

I worry for Queen Sorach's safety now. Bad luck she got captured in the first round!

Too many characters involved in the battle. Not a surprise, considering this battle at capital city.

By the way I also used Ctrl + F to look for my character. Too many names, I do not know many of them either :D

As for me, I need to check everyone from my realm so it gets very annoying very fast.

I sometimes miss out on a person or two and they point it out later to me.

Maybe each realm should have a specific color.

Aye and from now onwards, the 'fun' can begin. I apologize should my character cause yours any inconvenience, i's not my fault he has a will of his own ^^

There are some really good characters providing great fun on the South Island. I like meeting with Taselak, they have the best trash talk.

Why not change your game options to underline your character in battle instead of highlight?

Lo, for the clouds parted and the way was revealed. I don't know which reason I'm more excited for the next attempt on our walls now; smashing Sandals (and the occasional Ikkie) or checking out my fancy new battle reports.

I do have that enabled, and I still find it easy to miss though it definitely helps a lot yes.

Props to whoever named their unit "Kill me im a hero".

Mooch Nifflesock, Gunther Spearhawk and Kinron Indirik all died too. Great battle.

Kinron died in one hit, too. No wounds. Unit only took 500 hits that round.

Those peasant militia are insane. They are noble killing machines. Capturing too. That's got to be 8 or 9 nobles dead trying to break that city.

Guenther died with one hot as well.

Named my troops in honor of a tester from the SEI. His name was "Hero" testing the hero character. He always named his troops, "Kill me I am a." Given the named followed it read "Kill me I am a Hero."

Actually, as I recall, his character name was "I am an hero," and the unit name was frequently simply along the lines of "Kill me".

I don't know who the player was, but to the best of my knowledge, there was not, in fact, anyone besides Tom who was an official tester during significant portions of the life of the character.

I think he even survived long enough to see my character (Alanna, the ruler of first-SEI Ikalak for a long time) leave the island, thus once again proving that you can't get a hero killed if you're trying to do it.

My first hero died after Taselak won the previous time and we got bored and started a rebellion.

You are right, that was his name. To long ago for my faulty memory.

For Sandalak! Attack!

Wait, wrong thread.

Another siege routine. A few more dead nobles, many nobles wounded and captured. Maybe every attacker will be dead soon, so defender keep stand there and outlast us all :P

A poor victory considering almost a 1/3 of our force didn't arrive.

Yes, it is a poor one. Not sure what happen to the activity, everyone even lagging behind even though we wait for them.

Im surprised i made it XD.
As i forgot to move out from a region next to Belus into Belus and had like 2 fights in there and lost like 20 men and got 25% equipment damage before the real battle even started XD. Atleast i wounded someone.

Didnt wound anyone in the Attack on Taselak though... :(

Sandalak is a sinking boat. Everyone should join Ikalak like me. Winning is the only thing that matters \o/

I end up captured? Really? I need to attend to my guests! I had a whole bunch of RP ideas ready to go :(

EDIT: Wow, this is almost as boring as week long periods I've spent in jail before where NOTHING HAPPENED AT ALL. Being tortured is disappointingly boring when it's just a short blurb of text. Worst. host. ever.

With the new summon peasant feature, you will have to kill almost everyone in the city to be able to conquer one. Fun times. Would have been possible with starvation in place but it is impossible to starve a city at the moment.

Post by: Sacha on July 29, 2015, 03:11:05 AM
Or just go for the overkill. If you park enough troops in a city even the militia won't be enough to destroy it all. And it only works on small realms. So if you want a city, go attack the big boys :P

I realize this is a rather moot point on the war island though. Then again, if Sandalak had that monster 40k army from before, I doubt even our militia could defeat it.

Too many people died from the original militia. That militia was pretty much daimons from the 5th invasion pretty much. Killing multiple people in a single battle...
