And tell us the country too, while you're at it.
I'm from Belgium (Western Europe), although I'd rather be somewhere faaaaaaaaaaaar away from it, TBH...
-
USA, er...America, North part. Yeah...
-
United States, specifically the quaint, farmy part of the northeast c:
-
Pennsylvania? Then again, the northeast does have quite a bit of farmland. I need only drive about half an hour from my parents' house to see horses and cows and grain silos.

Up in New England, actually x3
-
German living in Arizona, USA.
-
USA, Kentucky. Best state in the union: why? Because it isn't actually a state. It's a Commonwealth. FTW.
-
The southern part of Canada, a stone's throw away from the USA border, however, I've never been to the US.

Deep in the midlands of England, approximately a 15 minute drive away from ye oldie Nottingham castle :D
-
Netherlands.
-
South-western Ontario (Canada) is technically home. However I do spend quite a bit of time in Seattle.
-
I'm English but I'm currently living in Malta
-
I was born in Connecticut but I live in North Carolina. So, the United States!
I find it a suitable place of living.
-
In England, and more specifically the County of Kent.
-
Western Canada, but live and work in Taiwan for now.
-
Netherlands
-
Canada!
-
Maine! ;D
Oh yeah, we're also part of USA but we forget that sometimes...
-
From Italy but living in Germany. Not near Tom for those who wonder :P
-
South Africa, South Coast :)
-
Jaunelandia! It is neighbouring(well, it is inside) Finland.
I will start conquering Finland soon, then i move towards Sweden which will be looted and burned to the ground... then i buy Estonia.... then i gotta see where to Next.
But shortly, sooner or later you all will be part of Jaunelandia!
-
I wonder if it was intentional that, of the peninsula, Norway was forgotten. Unless jaune is already ruler of Norway.
-
I go to college in Pennsylvania, but I am from New York.
-
It is insulting to both Australians and New Zelanders to be grouped together.

Yeah, went to 6th/7th grade in NSW, Aus. was the time of my life - USA sucks.
-
Where abouts? I hail from Newcastle NSW originally.

Would you prefer if we just called ya'll Oceanians? ;)
-
Ain't that an offense to all the other islanders who live in the area, some of which actually aren't found on even modern maps?
-
I was going suggest that the collective noun 'Antipodeans' was an acceptable designation for AU and NZ citizens (as that is how they are often described here in the UK) but discovered the definition and realised that to you we are the antipodeans. I learn something new every day.
The only other collective nouns we have in the UK for AU and NZ citizens is 'backpackers' or, possibly, 'barmen'. :D
-
That's amusing, to us the UK are backpackers, crop pickers, and when they young lasses get really desperate, top less bar girls. But come on, Australia is the only continent you guys want to lump with another country? Have the other continents get multiple categories ITS UNFAIR I TELL YOU.
-
It might be due to the fact that Australia's landmass is the only continent occupied by only one country (Other than Antarctica).
-
3 countries actually, there are still 2 guys that have declared their homes to be sovereign nations and refuse to pay taxes. They do habitually cross the borders in order to import food supplies though.

Like I said.. we are each other's antipodes :D
As for lumping countries together.. Um, 'The Americas', 'Africa', 'Europe'...it happens to the best of us.
Hmmm.. what does 'Australasia' contain? Does that cover NZ? Same continental shelf? Too late (bottle #2) too google anymore.
Australia has sharks, snakes, stingrays, spiders and basically even the wildlife without an 's' at the start of it's name wants to kill you*. NZ has Hobbits and sheep as far as I can tell from the Lord of The Rings commentaries National geographic documentaries I have seen. No contest IMHO ;D
It's human nature to generalise (and to get annoyed when people do).
Hell, even half the UK has probably declared their nationality as Scottish, English, Irish or Welsh in the 10-year census last week.
*My sister has lived in AU for 15 years.. she has never been a barmaid and the wildlife constantly tries to kill her (though she does work for vets). We both love the former colonies anyway ;)

Australia has the top couple of venomous snakes or something. If this were an RPG, Australia would be the equivalent of the final boss' lair, unless this is one of those other RPGs where the secret final boss level occurs in the uninhabited place Antarctica, and the penguins explode. Hm, that's Disgaea isn't it....

Sir, you underestimate Australia (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCCkTNsdrPk).. what nature does not provide man invents.
-
Yes we have some of the most venomous snakes and spiders. Fortunately they aren't overly aggressive like some of the Indian and American snakes, so bites and deaths are very rare. For example the Inland Taipan is the most venomous land snake (some of the coral snakes are more venomous). The only confirmed bites from this snake are amongst people that work with them, and none of them fatal. There are 2 - 3 deaths in Australia every year from snake bites. In comparison hundreds die on the roads.

Well, I think that poor healthcare is of bigger effec than snakes being more or less aggressive... and pressure on their habitats.
I'm from Belgium :) I like it here, though I won't stay!
-
That's coincidental, I don't like it and I won't stay :P
-
URUGUAY!!!
URUGUAY!!!
URUGUAY!!!
Gotta love my country :P
-
Re: New Zealand/Australia debate, how about the UK/Irish thing. Now if there's a country in the world that's had enough of being lumped in with it's closest neighbour, it has to be Ireland >.<
-
I come from the Nertherlands.. Amsterdam!! ;)
-
Sweden.
Currently filling water balloons and composing inspiring battlesongs with which to repel the Jaunian invasion.

I'm born and raised in the GTA, ontario, canada.

Agreed, they have nothing to do with each other. I, for one, have never seen any Hobbits when I watched the Crocodile Hunter!

Actually we keep all the hobbits in a area called "The Shire" in Sydney NSW. It is much easier to keep tabs on them if we isolate them in a single geographical area. (The area is sometimes refered to as Sutherland Shire, but that is just to mask its true intent)

Good luck with that. This Swede will stop ya! *karate kick in the air*
So yeah, that answered the question of the thread too.
For those living far away who might not keep track of the countries in Europe or think that Europe itself is a country; Sweden is a part of Scandinavia which is located in northern Europe (still not a country) ;)
