Title: Regions missing - Beluaterra
Post by: Naidraug on January 20, 2012, 12:26:28 PM
Hello,

so there is a problem in Nothoi (Beluaterra), we have two regions - Pel Mark and Gaxano that belong to the realm, but have no lords (the previous lords deleted their accounts).

The regions now aren't part of a duchy and neither the ruler or the duke and asign new lords to it.

I, as ruler, went to the Govern the duchies... and the regions doesn't appear there or in any other page, but are still counted as part of the realm

funny. they are listed in the island's region list (as part of northoi), but not shown as part of the realm list (RealmDetails.php)

Those pesky daimons, making regions vanish into thin air...

according to the database, they belong to the duchies fo Ossmat and Dyomoque, respectively.

Does that help?

Ossmat  = Old Grehk
Dyomoque = Fronen

at least they are neighbouring realms...

Reeds their only city, I believe.

according to realm list.. Duchy of Reeds is the only duchy they have. it's also their only city/stronghold/townsland...

I've seen this happen on Atamara as well. After CE took Strombran city from Carelia, the Carelian region next to Strombran was still listed as "Duchy of Strombran".

It used to be that "orphaned" regions (where the realm lost a city but not an rural region within its duchy) became imperial regions. Newly acquired rural regions also became imperial regions. This seems to be no longer the case.

Right now, orphaned regions stay attached to their original duchies. Newly acquired regions seems to be added to a duchy immediately, even before a lord can be elected/appointed. I don't know what logic it is using to decide which duchy to attach the new region to.

nearest bordering duchy, if no duchy is bordering (for whatever impossible reason), nearest duchy.

Hm, this is strange. It might be some old code interfering with the new one. But on Atamara, that's a different problem (stable code). I'll fix this manually, but any further information would help make sure it's not a problem in the future.

The regions were in those duchy s for no more than a week, but then we got it back, this happened when the players deleted their characters...but now it is working

Thanks Tom!

Sounds like a similar situation in Fronen.

Marpii is listed on the region page as : Fronen, duchy of Fronepu

But Fronepu is Melhed's city.

If you want me to fix it, you need to tell me what it should be like. :-)
