With the new changes to the food system implemented, is there a need for caravans any more? Other than carrying food to keep a unit from starving where food is not readily available, I can not see one.

I believe we should keep caravans, or at least something that can carry food, for this purpose. That way, if an army knows it will be travelling through regions that are low on food, they can prepare ahead of time.
We still have our caravans at the moment. If we were carrying food when the changes came in, is that food still there? We can't trade it, but we can use it to supply our troops if we're in starving regions.

ya but you cannot buy more food to fill the caravans. I think that we should be able to buy food for caravans, just not sell it for just that reason. As well as looting food instead of just destroying it on raids
You can loot food. I believe it instantly appears in your home region.

What if you're the ruler and don't have a home region? Goes to the capital?
I have no idea...
Previously on stable if one looted food, it appeared in his/her caravan if one had one. Now thats no longer possible. If an way to fill food in caravans is made, it would be really helpful.

That is excellent news I will inform my general that looting food is still a viable option.
