3 days ago I bought 200 units of food for my region, but the daily report still says they're starving and production has stopped.
==
You have 192 bushels of food stored.
This store will last you about 200 more days.
Elost: There is a shortage of food and the people have been starving
==
How long does it take for the people to realize they aren't actually starving?
the above stats (192 food, 200 days) is from the command menu.
from the region details it's different
Food: 43 bushels
Starvation is horrible, people are begging for food in the streets.
Is that disconnect normal? (192 food vs 43)
Is that the region details page where it also shows gold, production, morale, etc? in that case, that is your region's production, not it's current storage.
And yes, it is normal that starvation does not go away immediately. A region has some size, it might take a few days to distribute the food from the central granary to everyone inside.
Ah ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the answer!
Notice the other line that says "food is being distributed to the region".
question....
imagine a region with 0 food in warehouse. due to low pop, it produce 0 food and consumes 0 food.
would it be considered to be a net consumer, and thus starve? obviously, the amount produced will be lower than amount consumed.... in decimals. does that count?
As long as it has even a single peasant, it will use at least 1 bushel.
ok.. family visit doesn't quite tally with that then..
mind you... it is somewhat vague... "roughly".. so it is right, i suppose..
"According to your uncle's notices, and taking into account the current weather, the locals should produce about 0 bushels of food a day, while eating roughly 0."
Key note, roughly, as you noticed.
