While some of the things, such as a random unique item, are fine and won't have much impact on the fairness of the game, other things, such as buying volunteers for your units, is just asking for people to take advantage of the system.
Well, maybe if there are enough negative feelings about it, Tom will take it down. Maybe as early as tomorrow. :P
Have any of you even tried getting them? I don't like how I can't order mass amounts of magic scrolls.
Well, you get what you pay for. BM is not free to maintain, and Tom depends on player contribution. I feel there should be some sort of pay-off for giving my money away. Also, the more we buy, the more money Tom has, and then he can take more time off from his real job to work on new features for the game.
So spend, spend, spend!
I believe you will find the unbalancing effect is not nearly as bad as you might think. I would suggest purchasing one of the supposed "worst" of the lot (the troops seem particularly egregious to me) and see what I mean.
I know! I purchased 50 additional knights for my elite cavalry unit just now, and unless I can't count, my cavalry unit is now 14 knights strong!
Woah, you can purchase knights, as in extra characters? That's pretty cool, but how do you get past the 2 characters per continent limit?

Well, you know, money makes the world run... I mean... 8)
Maybe you have to pay extra for shipping and handling? I'd imagine sending over horses would cost a lot by weight.
;D
And if you get stuck in the equatorial zone, you will be forced to throw all your horses away :( doesn't matter if you paid or not >:(
:o
My item shop!!!!
:'(
It disappeared, and just when I decided which one I wanted to buy! >:(
In the enduring exclamation of one of my classmates when he was crying in the bathroom: "Stop dumping on me! Everyone keeps dumping on me!"
And thus I withdraw my complaint about unbalanced April Fool's jokes.
And nobody has added it to the Wiki yet? Guys... you're slacking. :-)
Still in denial. So close to 50 prestige...so...close...

I know the feeling. And my high prestige character on Dwilight became a priest - branching off in a new direction. Had to transfer my hopes to my Atamaran character.
Geeve me moar itemes!!!
