For those who have yet to hear, Jenred has regained his full faculties and returned to public life in Arcaea...And his daughter, Ashkeyana Aerywyn Kindon Bedwyr has moved from being the squire of King Galiard of Cathay to the newest Cathayan noble.

Yet open paths for the Church in Cathay and Arcea!
I'm amused at the interest in a female character of mine. I have to admit I hadn't really anticipated that immediate response, aside from possibly a few looking to marry into influence of a sort.
Magnus has dibs and will death duel those who say otherwise. Son of the head of the largest faith on the isle, not a bad prospect.

A thing I'd like to know, OOC: why is there a Solarus and Malos? Obviously, I'm most proximate to this, but that comes awfully close to Malus Solari. ;)

When I returned to BM (for the second time), I chose my wife's maiden name as my BM family name. When she found out, she was less than pleased. So, I took my old BM family name back. As a player from 2004, I think I have the rights to "Solar"-anything. ;)
Pfft. Likely story!
Is it wrong that when I first saw the original name there, I thought it was Merlin?
So while were on the topic, is there a relation between Remi and Remton? And more related to the OP, who is Jenred's wife? I know a Kindon obviously, but I am new to FEI so I don't actually know any Kindons.

Edara Bedywr-Kindon, once Duchess of Talex, Queen of Arcaea, and by royal proclamation most beautiful woman in Arcaea.

Not anymore. She is probably old and hysteric now ;)
On a note related more to Jenred specifically, FEI is pathetic. Jenred comes back from the dead and he already has the #2 spot from when he paused. Well, that and it has a tiny bounty board either way.

Looks like Edara had an affair while you were gone. Edara no where to be seen but there is a Mathew David claiming to be Kindon. Whats worse is that its a peasant.

She never was. That's why it was by royal decree. Jenred actually had someone stabbed once for claiming someone else was more beautiful (though admittedly, the guy was a Marshal in a realm Arcaea was at war with, so we would have stabbed him anyway, but it's the thought that counts).

Jenred had the highest bounty on the Far East for a considerable time. That's what happens when you beat the crap out of the entire rest of the continent at one time or another, and most of the assassins report to you and your friends. And the other side of the coin is that Jenred and aforementioned friends didn't need to use the bounty board, because they just made direct arrangements with the assassins. Jenred must have paid out a few thousand gold in specific hits over the years.

Nope. I'm fully aware of the OOC origins of Matthew David (which the more enterprising among you may note is my first and middle name). Kelley had an adventurer in Arcaea way back when who got killed, and I didn't notice, so she named the next one after me to make sure I would take notice if/when he died. IC...I
think he's a bastard of Dougal's, but I wouldn't swear to it.

As an interesting (to me) contrast to Galiard, who is probably twice Jenred's age and has certainly collected his share of enemies over the years: there has never been a high bounty on him (the current one of 50 or 100 has been there for quite some time) and nobody has ever actually successfully stabbed him, and only two or three have ever tried.

As far as I know, Galiard has never been as polarizing as Jenred. Enemies he had in plenty, but not the same level of vitriolic, frothing-at-the-mouth hatred.
QuoteAs far as I know, Galiard has never been as polarizing as Jenred. Enemies he had in plenty, but not the same level of vitriolic, frothing-at-the-mouth hatred.
He did back in Lasanar, and then again when he returned to Cathay prior to his self-imposed exile - but those enemies, while vitriolic, were also apathetic, and placing bounties and stabbing people takes effort.
He was also Conan's chief rival for a while but that was right around when I left BM, and others took up that mantle.
I've always been vaguely disappointed that Velax never got a bounty put on him. He's made plenty of enemies. Guess he'll have to find some that aren't lazy.
Of course...One little secret I forgot to mention...Jenred went from having no bounty to a 500 gold bounty within a week after Jenred wistfully commented about the omission of his name from the bounty board, and the rest was added shortly thereafter. For all I know, it was one of the Arcaean Dukes who added the bounty.
Most people don't like wasting away gold into bounty pots. ::)

Too few female characters in BM.
Arella's current bounty I'm still convinced was placed there by one of Aenilia's multiple failed rulers around the time that she first returned. Other than that, I don't think she's ever been on the board and certainly hasn't ever been assaulted. Which has always struck me as odd, since she's always been a polarizing figure (even when she's staunchly neutral) - in two different FEI eras now.

I was part of the creation of FEI, and I have always had a weird ambition to have a character named Remi on very continent, but I can't recall the origins of the city name. You'd have to ask AJ.

Ha, that was kinda the opposite of the spectrum that I was thinking but more interesting anyways. Does AJ still play BM or go on the forums?
Pretty sure AJ had a character named Remi, actually. He was still playing when I quit. I came back and he was gone. He's shown up twice since I returned, unpaused characters and had them autopause again.

Ashkeyana Aerywyn Kindon Bedwyr. All reasonable names, but only a Bedwyr-Kindon would look at her name and think "You know what's missing? An extra first name!"
And Aglararanaurawarth Urominiel beat Bustoarsenzio Peristaltico a long time ago in the impossible-to-remember-names department.

And so, Malos moves to Azros and requests an audience with Ashkeyana. This isn't going to end well, I suspect. Either someone back home in Kindara is going to raise hell that he's in Azros - though he's perfectly allowed to be there to conduct temple maintenance - or someone in Cathay is going to raise the alarm that a Kindaran noble is trespassing.
Should be interesting (I hope).
Battlemaster long names still have a long way to go to beat historical ones. The only man to fight at both the Battle of Trafalgar and the Battle of Waterloo was named Don Miguel Ricardo Maria Juan de la Mata Domingo Vincente Ferre de Esquivel. Imagine having to type that lot when you want to address a BM letter!

Hispanics do general tend to have really long names. The standard format is first, middle, dad's last name, and then mom's last name I believe so the standard is long enough as is. (This is in no way meant to be racist or insulting)
Neither House Bedwyr nor House Kindon are sufficiently minor to be subsumed into the other, and Ashkeyana was born shortly after Aerywyn died. I don't think First name, Honorary name, and both House names is terribly unreasonable.
