Title: The Official Drink of Your Realm
Post by: Scarlett on May 18, 2013, 10:17:41 PM
Inspired by the OOC clique of me and Velax in Fiji* making mojitos (or 'mohitos,' M'lord Emperor, thank you wikipedia)

Liquor or cocktails preferred.

Cathay (under Galiard): Laphroaig 25 year single malt.
Cathay (under he-who-shall-not-be-named): Pabst Blue Ribbon.

* not actually

Pian en Luries (under Alanna): Anything you want, as long as you made it yourself and it never left your sight.

Swordfell: Bowie's concoction "Ashrathe" is probably most popular, which I assume is like a Dwilight absinthe.

Found some more info on drinks of Dwilight.

We're not Vikings. We have already won Ragnarok.

As for what we drink... Mead I guess?  ;)

Not a realm, but the Himoura family drink of choice is a Aberlour A'bunadh single malt, straight, with a drop of blood from a recently slain enemy.

Not the in-game beverage you made up! The 21st century real world beverage!

I believe the beverage most representative of D'hara would be Dr. Pepper because the people are kindly and sober.

Haaa what? Far from it I think. We are after all the home of the Bloodmoon fruit.

Ravielan rum is one of Ismail's staples.
Also, Bloodmoon-infused wine is one of Ghaundan's favorites.

Dragon Wine, the fermented juice of pressed bloodmoon fruit, is the crown's official drink. Machiavel prefers mead, though.

I know Darka is 7Up...

The Barony/Heorot is Makarian Ale... and Coria would be... water from an undetermined source. We're such a melting pot that everyone brings their own, but water's always available. You just don't know how trustworthy it is. ;)

Enzo hauls wine around on a train of donkeys in Thalmarkin. And since the General controls the supply lines.. congratulations, Kin of Thalmar: you're wine drinkers!

Or mead. We mix those terms interchangeably even if they aren't the same thing at all.

I roleplay Edmund drinking aqua vitae, which in my head I translate at fruity liquor or some sort of brandy/whiskey. I can't say that kind of drink represents Kindara as a whole and I don't know my mixed drinks well enough to pick one to represent Kindara.

Aqua vitae is actually a term encompassing a rather large number of liquors.

Oh, and Darkans ofcourse have their own goodies, it has long history... :)
http://wiki.battlemaster.org/wiki/Darka/Produce#Seven-Up

Seven-Up
Seven Up, a stimulant from the City of Saler, on Atamara, reputedly extracted from a seaweed known only in the Bight of Sales, it's actual recipe is a closely guarded secret. Usually it's brewed into a refreshing beverage, served cold, but heavy addicts will smoke it for more effect. Adam, last king of the North Darka rebellion, was famous for his abuse of Seven Up.

Yeah, it's a loose enough label that I can change what it is whenever I feel like it to add a little flavor to a roleplay. I don't use it often though, but I like the option.

Old Norland had Melmoor Moonshine, Shiverwood Squirrel Ale and Vulture Spleen Vodka which I find to be the most awesome name for liquor ever conceived. Eston had Quintuple X long ago which was at one point weaponised and used in battle.

In Westmoor, I always pictured us specializing in making Rose Wine.  No, not wine made of roses, but a pinkish wine.

Believed to be the oldest known type of wine.  So all the others are just inbred offshoots! :o

I've always RPed the Bendixes as drinking Ale imported from their native Uforth.

The official drink of Armonia:

1.5 oz 151 Rum
1.5 oz gold Tequila
A drop of Tabasco sauce
A dollop of spicy mustard
Serve on the rocks

...and I mean using actual rocks- there is no ice in Armonia.

Is this an endorsement of PBR as the official beverage of Phantaria? I thought Phantarians just got hammered with cheap whiskey to forget how tiny their realm was.

As a convicted drunkard, under Erik's leadership Dolmbar became special for its wine, Trinbar for its beer and Avamar for its whores (to give some special flavor). I believe he would enjoy a good Jack Daniels, but this is up to the player  ;D

Ah... we have herbs too. A good green stuff; a gift from Uncle Adrian.
