Has anyone noticed monsters and undead spawning everywhere?
No, just militia dying like the good commoners they are.
Good old Giant Frogs are back!
Not sure if this'll be a full-scale invasion but it sure is interesting.
Fingolfin ruled Thalmarkin the last 2-3 years with the sole intention (officially) of preparing the world for the next invasion.
Last week I decided it was (long overdue) time to step down and let someone else rule, and the day after we hear rumours of invasion. 3 days later there is a (semi-)full scale invasion!
Thats just rude... But anyhow, Thalmarkin is at this very moment preparing for a new election. The first in a long long time...
Damn frogs...
I guess the Frogs saw their chance, finally, to start the invasion!
Run for King, Fingolfin, Run! ;D

They terk ur jerbs!
The one continent that didn't need an invasion to create a war lol... though that said with Fingolfin finally giving up his claim (oooh controversial) maybe the war would have wound down anyway.
Certainly unusual times ahead...
Oh and yes...

Would it be against the rules to keep track of this "invasion" like who lost what and which army is in what sort of shape?

I wouldn't release live information, but you could record it and release it after a certain period (intentionally vague here) has passed.
Please, no oog sharing of real time ic/ig data. Keep that kind if thing IG/ic. As Fleugs says, you can keep it and share it publicly later.
IC + wiki?
IC sharing is perfect. But please be aware that sharing on the wiki is practically ooc/og sharing.
Well, there's a record like that on the wiki of other invasions. I don't see why there shouldn't be of this one.
That would be great. I just think it would be better to not post it in real time.
WOW. That battle in Riombara, defending the Keep of Athol Margos, was AMAZING.
I leveled swordsmanship, leadership, and got a ton of honor and prestige.

I don't have any problem with that.

There were spontaneous summoning scroll castings all around the continent thanks to the scroll/invasion mechanic.
Oh, yeah, saw that in Caelum, too. Like a dozen of them.
Well, the more you know 8)
Honestly it's getting stupid now. Hoards of monsters at 25k cs and the like... People are starting to give up. It's just not fun.
Enjoy the challenge... it is totally random terrible timing and therefore great lol. It's like which way should I go... damn, back where started.
Uncivilised war rules!
This your first invasion? 8)
Come to north and see how these bugs are kicked :P
He hasn't even seen the horrors that happened in the last one.
Just another invasion to add to the scars that adorn our survivors!
This Invasion is really not that bad compared to the other ones. Just be happy there's no intelligent being directing those hordes. But like people said, enjoy the challenge. This whole ordeal is supposed to be hard, it is about survival and shaking things up.
For me it's the first invasion, but I enjoy the many battles and the politics around it.
Put it this way:
Fight, for your lives depend upon it.
The survivors shall be heroes among the noble realms - gaining the fame, honor, glory, and prestige to elevate them unto new realms of power and influence.
The dead shall reign as honored martyrs throughout time immemorial, their names inscribed evermore upon the tapestry of fate's delusion.
Mere knights, after a number of victories, will hold the power (prestige/etc.) to become generals, judges, ambassadors, and rulers.
New commands shall arise. Stagnation shall fade. Borders will shift. The world will never be the same - and we shall be all the better for it.
The remnants of this invasion shall pave the way to future empires. Rogue lands can be reconquered and become the site of new realms, divergent colonies, and present the new face of continental politics.
Weakened cities and realms will present fruitful targets for numerous wars, further adding to the chaos and subsequent re-establishment of order that shall inevitably follow.
Consider it a sign from the Gods that an Age of Reckoning and Metamorphosis is upon us.

There was an intelligent daimon leading the hordes, but it decided to march against a walled city and got wounded. Now it's just sitting there without a unit.
He's still wounded, actually.
(I'm not sure if you have any way of telling that from scout reports or anything...)

This is not entirely accurate, I've seen the rogues move with a purpose when they need to.

While it had a unit you could tell, but otherwise it's just marked as a noble without a unit. I guess Vanguard is going to be an unhappy camper in a few turns.

All hail new King of Kings! :D
Unfortunately he's actually in prison, but can't be tortured or executed because the character hasn't existed for more than 2 weeks yet
Cheeky little bastard ain't he.
We caught an enemy scout..... Hold on ..... A zombie scout? How does that work? ;)
Unfortuantely, this current invasion seems to be turning into little more than run back and forth dealing with monster threats. The monster threats are a little bigger, but the initial excitement has worn off. Our island-wide war has stopped for the meanwhile.
Places that never had enough nobles to support all the regions they owned are going rogue, but no big changes to other places. BT didn't get the big influx of new characters it really needed.
What HAS been helped is more roleplaying, to a point, but it's starting to become that weekly letter to your mum. Not sure what can spice the place up.
I'm not sure... while it's been mostly manageable in my corner of the woods - though it indeed requires constant patrolling to stay manageable - there are starting to form big rogue patches which will breed monsters and undead at an accelerated rate. We may see big hordes emerge from there that could shake realms that have been spared the worst so far.
Food is also becoming more and more of a problem.

Before Djembe was lost to the monsters, it had 24k of rogues inside of it ;-)
A few weeks ago, my character scouted a 40 k CS horde in Eg Tutnu.
Many of those guys went south. The IVF are struggling with several hordes of 10-25 k CS

Pff that sucks, although fortunately you can beat a 12k horde with like 7k mobile.
So one of the estimates is that there's approximately 150K CS roaming around the IVF atm with more on the way if the magic in the air is any indication.
How are the other realms doing?

Holy .... Nothoi only has like 20k left roaming or so
Thalmarkin also has some small hordes here and there, but nothing too impossible.
We've been seeing nobles with many many scrolls (+15) to have 'magic accidents' though. So these scrolls go off on their own (punishment for holding on to too many scrolls?) :-[

I despise that new code, damn you devs!
I've had 4 scrolls go off 'accidently' already :-(
Well, if you don't want your scrolls to "go off" at random, there's a very simple solution. Actually, there are two:
1) Give them to someone else.
2) Find somewhere you want there to be lots of monsters/undead, and read them yourself.

I know the solution and have spread them, still not a fan of this one though. There are more than enough monsters already as it is.
78k in Zdenka

In that case IVF will not survive, RIO will prob join them and then Nothoi/Fronen/AA will have to try to defend the south jointly alongside the IVF nobles...So this is going to be invasion worthy.

I know. I'm so irreverent.
I feel bad for IVF, especially after they made their admirably bold offer to Rio. Too much pride and conservatism may well sink us both, unless you can get me a lance of Atlases.
At this point, I wonder if it would have mattered? 171k is still 171k. Even combined, our armies would still have been mauled by 20k hordes that made it through the archer fire. Even if we only lost a fraction of men at a time, There simply wouldn't be enough gold to refit.
It would've been death by many cuts, but death nontheless. Now it's just a race to see who's left standing last, and Riombara is so far winning that one by a long shot

That looks like it's after several units marched off into a portal and were never heard from again.
In completely unrelated news, several units of undead marched out of a portal in Affkat. Weird, huh?
Now all we need is for a portal to open up in Unger and drop the Wolves and Eagles in Fheuvenem.
You guys still haven't killed off the undead sailors? RIP

Magical Accident (8 minutes ago)
personal message
While in Baqua, your record-breaking collection of scrolls and the local magic combined to form a dangerous magical disturbance that resulted in one of your summoning scrolls casting itself.
Derp. PROTECT THE GOATS.
Goats, huh?
You might ask Nothoi if they think there are better things to do than worry about the goats ;D

The portal was opened yesterday and a 25k horde of daimons entered the world, but I would urge you to have your character question this IC :-)
I don't recall seeing any messages about it IC, and he's a little busy filling undead with arrows.
A message went out to the rulers channel.
Two hordes of 50k undead each down. Now just 100k Monsters and who knows how many undead from elsewhere left.
2115 men (half monsters, half undead) 110700 CS. Only 4 of the units aren't incoming :D

This is why we can't have nice things.
Witness!
If we'd had higher walls or a few thousand more CS, we would have actually won.
As it is, Mavia was dragged kicking and screaming from Fheuvenam's walls by monsters and is imprisoned.
And now I'm wounded. In hindsight, maybe going to Ete City would have been a better idea. Most of my unit was slaughtered on the spot once we were the last on the ground.

Unless these are scrolls going off by themselves, it's okay you can stop now. We're dead.
If they wanted to destroy Beluaterra, they could have just sunk it. There's a big difference between a fun monster invasion/encounter and a complete destruction of the island.
Those who got wiped out, join the northern realms. Nobles are still needed... Gold aint issue in most realms i guess... We just need nobles to field that gold.

Netherworld commanders Jactosh and Jhedosh are having a stroll around Thalmarkin lands with 10K daimons right now.
Why are they there?
What makes you think I have an idea? :-X
They are scouts whom came to see if King of Kings, Daimon Slayer King Fingolfin is still around :)
-Jaune
Then there are definately heading in the wrong direction. ;D
They're going up north, to Pellan. Maybe they want to open some kind of Portal there too?
Clearly they're after our precious snow! Overlord must've given up his dreams of conquest and plans to retire on the Netherworld's very first ski slopes.
They grew in number by sacrificing some peasants and are now moving back to Bessimir.
Not sure what they are after.
