Let us talk about the glorious new realm that has been planned and now split off from Vix Tiramora like chopped carrots! Your reactions? SHOCK? HORROR? INTEREST? Post your thoughts or opinions on the new realm here!
HORROR!
It will conquer the lands of Caligus and Eponlyn and split two new democratic realms! Which in turn will conquer the lands of Nivemus and Sirion and split another two! Future is democracy! Democracy is future!
Seriously now, I think everyone knew about it happening before it happened. Still I believe it is a bit of a hurricane, because suddenly there's like 11 opportunities for stuff turning around and power-blocks shifting. Imho much more interesting than static north vs south. Finally some opening for politics and diplomacy to take place and not only warfare.
PS. I was hyperbolic about the 11 opportunities, there are just 10 but I dislike round numbers.
democrats spreading like a wildfire!
Brock is watching with interests. Look like a new realm with Garas in it! @.@
Gotta love that new realm smell!
I wish I could march around high ::)

Or be High while marching?
If it ain't as noisy as Fontan it ain't democracy ;)
IF YOU WANT LOUD, WE WILL GIVE YOU LOUD
I like to privately call them HighMarchians and pronounce it High Martians. :D
I actually thought this realm was called High Marsh at first.
For the record, my proposed name for this realm was Highmark, precisely to avoid this kind of issue :p
Sadly people went for the Highmarch variant which I mentioned in passing as an alternative form of the same name...
And Highmarch keeps gaining new nobles. Will it ever stop?

I am not sure which one is better. Vix or Highmarch.

Perdan is now down to 9 nobles, that must a record low for the realm ever.
Did those nobles all come from Vix and Perdan?

Vix, quite obviously!

I'm not sure any came from Perdan tbh but there are also several Oligarchians inside Highmarch and 2 new chars entirely.
I wonder what happened to Perdan. Used to have so many players but they seem to fail to capture people these days.
I believe Atanamir was behind a lot of people... they used to coordinated by means other than the BM. When he lost the character, many went with him.
Andddd I'm wounded AGAIN. Two in one day. I'm trying to return to BM, but the game itself like to put me away :'(

Same.
Eduardo, it will be fixed, just not sure when.

I'm going to make it:
- 2 months or less: no wounds/insta-heal
- 2-4 months: only the most minor wounds
- 4-6 months: all wounds quick-heal
Well, the duchy of Perdan just joined Highmarch...
*No ingame messages please that have information with ingame consequences*
Summary of the post: The Duke of Perdan said hello to Highmarch
ZOMG
Jarin gets injured and THIS happens!?
I hope they stay. I like R5 SF.

Me too. Apparently the duke of Perdan was bored with his old realm.
Yeah I think it shocked just about everyone. I woke uo and just thought "Oh no, even more stuff to deal with now"
And I missed the whole offense feast in Sordidus.
That's a good thing I think for Highmarch and the south. Others have taken over the banter.
30 wounded nobles in Sordidus btw atm and then a few in Visue as well. This was absolute carnage. Can't remember seeing so many wounded nobles for a very very long time.
I'm glad they will change the mechanics. It seems that statistically, this system did not consider that we have fewer characters now. So, a wound for everyone!
Yeah. 30 seems a bit too high...
Yea, first battle, unending wounds.
It wouldn't be so bad if the wounds at least healed. But more often than not, they don't heal, and they seem to worsen more often than they lessen. Normal wound = 4 days out, basically.
Jang is up to 150 messages from her wound and I figure she's got at least two more days on the sidelines. She's gonna have a novel to read by the time she's back!
Yea I got rekt in the battle of Sordidus. About 100 messages unread, despite reading as many as I can. So much out of context, which I'll never unmix.
And Sordidus finally earned its name. (sordidus - lac. dirty, filthy)
At the peak moment there was what - 60-70 nobles in the region? Half of them wounded? Total of 4-5k casualties over the last 3-4 battles?
Looks like Perdan is pretty much dead. One of the dukes just joined Eponllyn out of all places.
Continental War, Perdan Civil War, Treacheries and Betrayal, a rogue queen, Purrcious floof still pretty.
WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE.

No, not just one of their dukes. Their KING just joined Eponllyn of all places.

Oh... wth...
Adios, Perdan.
Adios EC you mean
Why? There's Vix and Highmarch. Just run over Caligus, try to take lands around Karbala and you can have a new agressive realm at Sirion's doors. I would say Vix has been very successful. The problem is that Sirion is so stable that whenever a kingdom dies, they go straight to Sirion, which makes new kingdoms grateful... well, some time gratitude must goes away. Maybe it's a matter of waiting or changing the mentality of the players. More allies, less war.
I do not know if Sirion being Sirion is worse than what happened to Perdan.
North already had a pretty big numerical advantage and now that Bescanon is theirs including its 15k militia the entire backland of Vix/Highmarch is open plus the difference in nobles widened further.
Well, it's time to put someone out of the game or negotiate a ceasefire. Garas don't have a Queen in Nivemus?
Sirion have a lot of regions in terrible conditions. My char already tried to convince Ivo to give him some people to take care of the lands, but I don't think they care while the cities doesn't starve.
I think you can truly feel the current state of the game from the current war. There is a big shortage of people to fill the regions. So many regions are left unattended.

Yup. Though it's also partly due to nobles being concentrated in the wrong places. Sirion has lots of nobles but it still has plenty of rogue regions because its leadership is rotten.
Meanwhile realms like Perdan would probably be fine if they just had a few more nobles.
Lord Garas, the fun has just began!
Tbh, some of the most fun I've had in the game has been spent losing wars :p

Pretty sure you can win wars with less gold, nobles, and regions. I've seen it done multiple times in this game. It all comes down to team work and communication. This war is far from over and Bescannon's little switch won't cause the South the collapse.
This is why I don't want Garas to be Lead Marshal. Needs a little more faith in our Democracies than just look at the statistics...
Hehe don't worry if IGaras leads he leads for victory. (Might not be the case for all my chars). But the next 2 weeks will be very critical. And saying that we can win and proposing concrete plans on how to are generally quite a different things alltogether ;)
I am not posting any plans on how we will win in here ::)
Then send them to the elders. So far I've seen nobody willing to take on this !@#$ job haha. I remember well from the last time, even if you do well you still get !@#$ on hehe.
But for real, I'm curious to read the 70+ remaining letters (and still counting upwards) when Garas recovers.
Hrafn just entered the discussion in Sordidus and I'm still feeling I arrived too late for the party.
That's because just about everyone else is wounded. I doubt there is much of a discussion left atm?
Still enough, I guess? I think I have 30 more messages stacked on my unread list since yesterday.
What's the deal with this region that just defected to Highmarch? From... Epon, I think? What're y'all up to :P
The duke defected to Eponllyn because he was mad at Perdan's other Duke for defecting to Highmarch, but he realized he overreacted so he defected back, but to Highmarch instead of Perdan.
Will Perdan disappear to voluntary assimilation? Will Caligus disappear to war? Will Highmarch conquer half the continent? So young, so successful. Democracy on EC is proliferous in nature, will the young Highmarch bud a new democracy somewhere in Perdan or Fontan? Highmarch is successfuller than Vix, will the new realm be successfuller than Highmarch? Will it assimilate more regions and spawn another democracy? Is democracy on EC The Borg? Would that make Vix the original Borg?
If only y'all could 'Murica the Xavax into embracing democracy. Now that'd be the borg... *shudder*
In the end, will Purrcious witness EC turning into a democratic continent achieving Vix's dream...
And then implode with war against allies and each other. Offspring realm devouring their mother realm all in a glorious giant explosion of egos and betrayal?
Purrcious could only dream ;D
Highmarch will annex Vix and create Xivax
EC has been down this path before. Fontan held 10 duchies at one point and was such a danger to both Perdan and Sirion that they buried their lifelong animosity and allied to bring her down. Ultimately though it was internal dissent over secretive military planning which ripped her apart.
Vix and Highmarch are both much smaller realms in noble count so perhaps they can avoid similar internal conflicts. But perhaps not. When democracies implode they really do it in style...
Since we're also joking about the evil-Highmarch alternative timeline, here's a little something my fellow fantasy-RTS nerds might understand ;)

Highmarch can't implode, we'll have a constitution soon! ::)
