It looks like 7 Arcaean player accounts have been locked by the GameMaster. I'm not about to go through every single player account in the Far East, but one Arcachon and one Arcachon/Zonasa account have also been locked. What's the deal? There can't be that many multis, surely.
Alright, obviously I'm more bored than I thought.
Accounts locked by realm:
Arcachon: 1
Arcaea: 8
C'thonia: 0
Cathay: 0
Greater Aenilia: 0
Kindara: 0
Ohnar West: 2
Zonasa: 0
Accounts with 2 characters in different Far East Realms (not included in above stats):
Arcachon/Zonasa: 1
Cathay/Greater Aenilia: 1
That's a hell of a lot of multis...
There have been quite a number of multis racking up. Tom must have gotten around to clearing through the backlog.
Looks like Pian en Luries got hit hard too... 7 out of 25 nobles locked out :o
I've never understood the reason people feel the need to cheat in a free game...
The same reason people cheat in a paid game: to get an advantage.
Not always true. Some are just so addicted to the game that 3-4 characters isn't enough for them.

This use to be true for me(I only have one new account now, old ones are gone). A long time ago I just wanted to experience everything there was for BM so I had three accounts spread out on different continents. I also didn't have enough time in a day to log in enough to make full use of my characters. So when ever I got a chance to play I wanted to get a massive dosage of BM. I think I only had one realm with two characters.
Only three? I had twenty-five ??? Granted, that was over the course of three years... I think I had 3-4 active ones tops at any moment.
Fissoa didn't get any locked accounts 8)
This is truly frustrating. Cheating not only eventually leads to your own characters being banned, but also ruins the experience for everyone else in the realm. I've been in PeL basically since I started a few months ago, and love playing there. But now we've lost half our army and it makes me feel like my whole time there has been somehow tainted and dishonest. Screw you, cheaters!

Aye. That happened to Irombrozia a while back too.
Having thought about this a bit more, I think that the prevalence of multis is actually very understandable given the current structure of the game. Because of how important estates are, realms need nobles. Estates are more important than soldiers to carry units, IMHO. So a multi that sets up an estate then does basically nothing is actually quite valuable; there is a very high return on cheating. I know that multis have been a problem since long before estates, but I wonder if estates make it worse.
Yet another reason to eagerly await the new estate system...

At least it wasn't as bad as Antioch...

I've never had the misfortune to play in a realm that has been riddled with multis. I've seen one or two here and there. And I've seen a few realms pretty much disappear when the multis get locked.
But yeah, I agree with your sentiments.
How do you guys find out about accounts being locked? I'd like to see who it was in Ohnar West to see if they acted similar to each other or not.
Going through all the families in the character list :P
And I thought it was a little sketchy to have two characters in the same realm.... much less 5 characters, and then one more in the realm you're at war with.

All we know so far is accounts were locked. We have no idea if it was the work of 1 multi, more then 1 multi or if the entire thing is a misunderstanding that will be worked out between the player(s) and Tom.

Sure, which is why that other thread is hashing out the reasons you don't OOC ban dukes who get their accounts locked.
OTOH, there's a lot of little signs on the accounts I've seen that make things pretty obvious once they're pointed out.

What, the fact they play in the same realms? Until one of my characters got deported I only played in Arcaea and PeL as well, its not uncommon for a group of friends to play in the same realms, doesn't make them multies.

I just got back from a tripple shift (need monies!) and came back to half the army being multies and half the remaining being wiped out.. I have a quarter left.. NOT Good... PeL might actually fall....

We still have our golds. We actually I don't since my knights had my gold and they have had their accounts locked.

Without changing class, I could control like 12 men, which is also about all I could afford.

lol, do you know how long it took for Aquilegia and Ordenstaat to fall? In the former case it was one guy who comprised about 90% of the realm or something. In the latter case, it was I believe multiple incidences over a period of 2 years, finally culminating in some sort of lock I think, perhaps because there were sequential UIDs in Ordenstaat.
Hm...coincidentally, I was present in Aquilegia (Ruler, and...pretty much every position over a period of a year or so due to various vacancies lol) and Ordenstaat (Banker and Duke). Haha...if I were in PeL at any point in my history that'd look really strange huh?

You have to admit it's "impressive" to have to deal with half of our army locked and a monster invasion over 7K CS.... or something

I recommend we run away. Generally on Dwilight multies are created when someone needs those extra characters for estates + army strength. If those multies hadn't joined, we would have had this same problem with monsters, only months ago.
Well at least you guys have a realm close to yours to join. :)

And be a subject of Amuary? NEVER. PeL should be alright, just have to pull in our borders and have those nobles that are left over recruit.
Pian en Luries has 7 regions, had 25 nobles, and now should have 18.
Libero Empire has 10 regions and 16 nobles.
Both Madina and D'Hara have 7 regions and 17 nobles.
Asylon has 6 regions and only 13 nobles.
I really don't think PeL is in any great danger, in comparison with the other realms. It was living a sort of fake golden age that has just ended, but it's hardly on the worst noble/region ratio out there now. It's still better than many. I see no reason why it should have to fall back and lose regions.

Mostly we can't hold a second city and defend ourselves against the large hordes in the North.

Yeah, these PeL's don't have nothing on what happened to Aquilegia (or Irombrozia). I think about three or four people EVER played in Aquilegia alongside Twinblade. Anyway, I love a good excuse to share Twinblade's last love letter to himself. Have a good giggle everyone.

Take Lupa Lapu and holding Poratown will be easier as you'll have a secure corridor through Nid Tek, and the length of your border will not be extended.
You have 18 nobles for 2 cities with a 3-region-border that is close to your capital. You shouldn't have to retreat.

You clearly don't have any idea what the hordes are like. We gave up on Lupa Lapu a while ago after struggling to try to hold it, but we were fighting off something like 10K a week in Lupa Lapu in addition to whatever hit Ciarin Tut and Poryatu. Pulling back to Nid Tek/Poryatu/Ciarin Tut reduced the hordes to maybe 5K a week total, with the occasional giant hordes coming in (like we have right now) with a
lot more (think we have had something like 12K hit in the last week or so).
The Desert, the Axewild, and all the Mountains make a
lot of hordes. I've seen days (when we held LL) where we had 20K+ on our borders.
