Now that there's a war on, I'm havin' trouble figurin' out what to call Eponllyn's people. I mean, I'm no etymologist, so maybe someone could present a historically-supported term that would be correct for the spelling?
-
I would call them 'Epollyni'. Epollynian or Epollynite seem to be a bit too long.
-
Epilogueans as they'll soon be the epilogue of Ibaldesh.
-
Eponiards.
-
Eponllese.
-
Eepple Peeple.
-
Eponies
-
I'd go for Eponli.

This.
peace!

Except that "this" is missing the first "n". ;)
-
Eepple Peeple.
This made me laugh pretty hard; not sure why.
-
I call us E-pollinators. Though I fully support Eepple Peeple.

Ok i notice....but is the one with best sound and easy to remember, not all Etymology are alike the realm names, i was reading some on this website.
http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?
As far i could understand, the etymology isn't born with the realm, but how others name them, at the beginning there are many variations but sooner or later one remains, specially those easy to pronounce.
In some cases (remember is just my opinion) maybe the people accepted those who are more pretty, ex:
On England, Instead of being called Englanians, or Englanders, they accepted "English"
These were suppose to be my 2 cents, but since i was taxed a 15% of my income only have ยข1.70....sorry..
Peace

On England, Instead of being called Englanians, or Englanders, they accepted "English"
But England and the English were both named after the "Angles", which is the "Anglo" in "Anglo-Saxon". So "Anglish" is much closer to the root of both. It's not that the land was named "England" and then the English were named after it, it's the reverse; the land is "Angle-land".
-
So maybe it is dependent on the suffix... is the suffix "-llyn" a variation (or origination) of the word "land"? In that case, we might simply call them "Epons".
-

Makes me think of "Peons"
-
Makes me think of probes.
-
Epoleen.
-
I just hope everyone doesn't start Turning Eponese.
-
obviously eepees
-
Why not eevees?
-
Cuz there's no V in Eponllyn...?
-
There's no 'i' in "England", either.
-
There is, if you spell it "Great Britain".
-
Then they're British, not English, which are two different things.
-
Oh the freezer burn.
-

Well, there's your "i", then. Quit bothering me.
-
England -> English
Eponllyn -> Eevee.
Totally legit. 8)

We're arguing over what we will call the people of a realm...

Actually 'llyn' is Welsh for lake (so I hope you are all rolling those lls properly) :)
But given how much of a pain that ll is to say I kinda like Eponi but as in Epon-i not as in E-pony :p
I also like Eponlli (with the ll)
But there is, it turns out, a whole Wikipedia article about alternative names that the rest of the world calls us Brits so I guess it is up to the rest of the continent to find something that they can call us :)
-
Ok, Southerners it is!

Prefer Southrons myself 8)

I would think Eponllonians rings best.
-
since its pretty obvious their name is one stop from ponyland you should just call them bronies

Interesting

We're only British when 'muricans are talking otherwise we're English, Irish, Welsh or ...though probably not for much longer because our northern brothers are mad Scottish. Generally people in the UK don't refer to themselves as British.
-
Funny, I've had English friends tell me otherwise constantly for about a decade now.
How'd that English Empire go for you then?

That was the British empire... I however am an Englishman not a Brit
-
Never really thought of this as a problem until now that i have to right to them like 3 or 4 times a day...
Epos
-
Some serious necromancy here.

Inside the UK yes, but outside it's better to say British. Saves so much hassle.
Plus, being a Englishman living in Wales calling yourself British makes live so much easier :P
-
Life is much easier without necromancers. Call us Eponians, however bad it may sound.
