Title: Too many insipid unique items
Post by: Bael on March 14, 2013, 09:47:37 PM
It is rather sad: I have 6 unique items on my advy, but  half of them have rather insipid names, such as "Tempus' xxxx of xxxx", or " something of Edairn". My question is, what do other advies do with items that they can't sell? Just give them away or let them break?

I'll buy the Tempus things if they're reasonable in price. :P

Edmund has sort of started collected Tempus stuff, too, actually. So, he'd buy something probably.

Have you tried selling the Edairn item/s to the Lord of Edairn? I would totally buy an item that had the name of my region in it. If you ever find "the Something of Hatdhes" or "the Something of any Arcaean region", let me know.

There is no lord of Edairn... >.>

Wait.  You really didn't realize that until now?  lol

Duke's been lost in the wine cellar? <.<

I did see the message about the Lord of Edairn going inactive, but for some reason had it in my head that Edairn was one of our southern regions and not in my duchy, so I ignored it.

We'd be happy to make it one of our southern regions. ;>

 :o ;D ;D ;D

If you have a character in Kindara, you should have seen the list.

For others who might be curious:

Cursed Helm of Alanurs
Tempus' Chain Mail of Strength
Tempus' Collection of Edairn
Dazzling Gauntlets of Blood
Tempus' Necklace of Edairn

Have you tried selling the Edairn item/s to the Lord of Edairn? I would totally buy an item that had the name of my region in it. If you ever find "the Something of Hatdhes" or "the Something of any Arcaean region", let me know.

I did actually offer to the previous lord, but he must have been inactive already.

Well, they aren't getting me/my character anything just by carrying them around  :(

PS: as you've likely figured out, my advy is around Edairn quite a lot.  ;D
That's his home region, so he sometimes gets a home advantage when hunting near it.

Sorry, actually haven't shared it yet :p Waiting to hear about the bonuses so they can be included in the pitch. (I spammed you with a couple of letters in a row, I should probably avoid playing battlemaster while having a phone conversation...)

*Looks shiftily around*

I should probably go reply to some of those...hmmm

Tempus' Collection of Edairn

I've never heard of a Collection item before. Which unique item slot does it occupy?

It's a book.

Didn't ever do a write-up about it though.

PS: While some of the names might be quite insipid, they have some interesting stories  behind them:

I found the Gloves and Necklace on the same hunt:

And the Helm I sold, and then found again!

You can always approach the Order of the Elders. . .we like collecting uniques.

Plus, it's not like us Priests have anything better to do but store money in the vaults >.>

Wait, Velax didn't jump on the gauntlets?

Velax would love another "of Blood" item, but Gauntlets are Armour type, aren't they? And he already has the Chainmail of Blood.

Oh, that would be a pretty good reason. I keep forgetting the categorizations are so wide.

I never did get to sell any items. I promised one of them to someone for free, and had two other people interested,  but I forgot who the first one was, and the other two...got bored? Forgot? Ignored it. Anyway...

I think I was going to buy one of them, but that happened, I think, around the same amount of time I started writing and receiving way more letters than usual and I was getting busier in real life.

I randomly remembered a few weeks after and felt bad that I'd forgotten to go through with a deal. So, if I was one of them, my apologies!

Ah yea, I forgot about that too.
