I'm playing as Balanuir, currently in The Dejected Districts.

I played this for a while in the Beta, then joined the French servers. Not only are the French servers playing a more recent version (though I think the international ones have caught up) but I found they as a group much more co-operative in game, resulting in much better survival rates in town.

This doesn't look too bad. I'd be interested in trying this out. I'll go sign up and try things out, then when we have some more we can hopefully join together somehow. This could potentially be pretty good if we all work together :)

Yes. I've registered, though I didn't see where/how you can choose a certain town. I don't even know where I am!

It's quite annoying how it always says 'this action is reserved for Heroes,' heroes being the players that pay for the game. Or can you becme a hero somehow?

Yeah, I agree. I'm always a bit iffy on that. You seem to be able to earn Hero Days by being the Last Man Standing, but that doesn't seem to be the easiest thing to do.

I guess Tom should create a Coalition and invite everyone in. I'm playing as Telrunya, should avoid confusion ;)

It's not. Just when your current game ends, don't join a new village. Considering the people with >100 points go to different villages, you should have mostly new people for now, which means it will only take a few days ;) Once everyone is ready and not in a game, one of us can join a new village and the rest will automatically join as well.

After several random constructions, 11 of our citizens died because they failed to return to Town. Now more random constructions are being done, and we can't get the Workshop up, vital to the Town. I hope it will be better with Coalitions and once we reach 100 Points :P

That sucks. I must say I like the game concept, but much of the 'OOC' background is frustrating. Paying for cool features, limited coalitions, ...

The coalition is just like a waiting room. Everyone in it who's not in a town will follow anyone joining a town, if they're set to 'ready' :)

This was home to a citizen who decided to settle down outside the town, thinking they would survive for longer unaffected by the quarrels and betrayals inherent in town life. Half of their corpse is still in the living room.

The game is pretty cool. It is disappointing that you can only be in one town at a time and that some features are locked if you don't pay, but overall its fun.

Tom is currently away so we started with 4 guys in the same town in the meantime. I survived 5 days on my first Town, who didn't even get the Workshop up. This Town seems to be a lot better organized though so high hopes here :)

Since I started, I've been wondering: what is the good of a 5-man coalition when the town is around 40 people?

Edit: Mind you, I suppose you could look out for each (rescuing), and organise sorties together, as well as just discuss stuff.

It allows you to play with friends basically, but you will still be dependent on randoms. If you have a Hero in each Coalition though, each Coalition can choose which town to start in and thus all join together.

Hehe, good luck! Yeah, this game is very punishing if you make even one mistake :/

On a lighter note:

During the assault, the game is inaccessible for 10-20 minutes, during which time a video will display instead, with two randomly chosen actions. Clicking either action refreshes the page and brings up other actions. There's no real value to this; just something to amuse yourself while waiting to see how your town fared.

My previous town was doing pretty well and looked like we could go for quite a while. Until someone forgot to close the gates and 90+ zombies got in :(

My current town seems to be doing quite well, but a few of the people who are taking charge seem a bit shouty, so it could end up with a big argument and everyone stops working together. We had a pretty good start though, found a hacksaw and got the factory on day 2, so we're producing a lot of resources really cheaply. Got a hero with a kitchen making +7 AP foods each day and we're only on day 3. I just really hope the hot-heads don't get in an argument and the town breaks down >.<

Meh, I'm not such a fan of their system. The regional talk doesn't seem to refresh on its own, opening a new tab often turns out blank, so needs to be refreshed. The UI seems quite clunky.

Try a different browser, update it, or something because I know a couple people playing and we haven't had any issues so far. And using tabs in the game just seems like a bad idea because the system seems designed to be played from one browser not multiples.

The game is neat, its funny, difficult, and overall pretty cool.  Having to be a paying player just to upgrade your home in the town or have a special class is lame.

As for dieing because of someone not shutting the door.  That is why the portal lock is so good even though people ignore it, because it leads to the piston lock which automatically closes the doors 30 minutes before the attack and prevents it from being opened again.

And then you're shut outside if you come home to late... A good gatekeeper > any lock imho

I would agree with that statement, a good gatekeeper. The first two towns I play in had a gatekeeper and a standby gatekeeper, both lost to someone leaving the door open.

Well, it seems to become a recurring theme that a group of random people simply don't have a reliable enough gatekeeper. Our Town was doing very well, but the gatekeeper didn't close the gates and now almost everyone is dead for no reason.

The game needs money to run, thus they need to make hero's an attractive prospect, thus they get all the good stuff. You can get hero time without paying, but you need to be the last survivor of a town that has survived past some arbitrary time line. It is certainly possible, but in no way a reliable way to be a hero.

The fact that even hero's can only bring limited people into a coalition shows the central theme of the game, that of survival under random conditions. Once you personally have racked up some good games I believe you can join Legend towns, which are full of other veteran players which makes things somewhat easier, only those towns have new game mechanics to face as well. All in all its a very well put together game, but I got tired of endlessly trying to motivate and organise a new town. The best I ever got was about 40 days survival.

Have you used up all the AP restoration methods for the day? In my towns we used to have a few members dedicated to run rescue missions, taking food/water etc to stuck players, or running out to booster a regions combat rating so people could retreat. Other then that I believe the newest version did add ways of surviving outside, but I'm not sure if that only works in Legend Towns

Yes, Inspect the Zone and you will see your chances to survive a night if you go into hiding/camping. You can use AP to improve your chances.

Vital info below for anyone playing die2nite.

1) How to improve chances of getting a good group:

In die2nite, the worst problem is getting stuck with noobs/inactives. So, if you suspect/know that you/your town is going to get wiped out that night, be sure to log-in just after the attack. You will then be able to join a town with a lot of people who will have played before (they would have logged in, found they died and joined a new town). The fact that they log in right after the attack also shows dedication, which a direly needed in this!

Alternately, just wait to join a town at about 23:35 game-time. Same principal as above.

The above is really good if you can do it because it will save you many days of wiping because you got stuck with useless group.

2) Advanced map add-on (player-developed map system)

The below is straight from the in-game forum, and it seems to all check out.

"Map: http://die2nite.gamerz.org.uk/mymap

The external map site is REALLY useful.
1) lets you see what's in the town bank when you're outside
2) see construction
3) coordinates of other players
4) town overview
5) other great things!

Be sure to update the map everytime you move in the world beyond

Click on the words "update current zone" at the top of the page.
Doing this records:
1) items on the ground
2) status of the zone (depleted)
3) EXACT # of zombies"

Sounds really good! Hope you make it further, and report on outcome.

So far I have hit two 4 day towns, and one 2 day. Was one of the last survivors in two of them ;)

The current town looks really excellent - already have tower and workshop on day 1! I found this town by using tactic number 1 hehe. Unfortunately I have yet to play with another member of my coalition sigh...

Currently on day 11. Dying tonight because we've had a sneaky griefer with us.

They built the Foundations using up some of our Concrete Blocks we were saving for Stone Cannon. Then they used our only Electronic Component on the Upgraded Map (again, being saved for the Cannon). They then used most of our Nuts & Bolts on the Razor Wall (saved for Ramparts). We've not been able to find any more Nuts & Bolts or Concrete Blocks and have been surviving off temporary defences since day 7/8.

Finally ran out of resources tonight, so we've all ran into the desert. We have ~550 defence, with a minimum of ~820 zombies (max ~920) tonight. I'll be dead tonight since all the best camping spots are covered in more zombies than I can kill, or are taken by other town members. Been a nice run though :P

Apparently socalled meta's exist, aiming to get over 30 days :) so really, 11 days is peanuts :P (though I haven't got that far yet!)

PS: workshop and search tower on day 1 seems like a bare minimum :P

Meta's go for 30-40 days generally and that's considered pretty normal. Random Towns reaching 20+ days is quite a feat. There's quite a difference in between it :)

Our Town has pretty much no nuts and bolts left so we can't really build any more defences.

85 AP in total, which is ~5 days worth of AP. So yeah, I think it was one person :P Especially since we could see the bars slowly creep up each day on them.

We could probably have only gone another day or two further without that griefer as we'd still have faced a Nuts & Bolts shortage, so wasting them on Foundations only sped up our demise.

Everyone in the 1st BM coalition pretty much expects to die2nite. So if there are any other BM coalitions around, you may want to hold off joining for a day and come with us. If you have a hero, he can join a specific town. All we need to do is post which town we joined quick enough.

How cool would it be to have a town with ~10 people with BM avatars? :-)

It would be good to do this. The best time to join is 11:30 if squishy is able to make it then.

PS: I'm not sure if the people from the coalition that I am a part of still read this thread, so I've posted the idea through to the Coalition board to see what they think of it. PPS: Night 6 now, should make it through :)

Hi all,

Sorry for the wait, I'm afraid I don't clarify my intentions enough sometimes. Because the time after the attack is 11:30 at night here, I'm not normally on at that time. Together with gathering the people in our coalition, I wasn't expecting it to start the new town last night. Once again, sorry for not making my intentions clear.

I'll make sure to be on tonight though, so we can get it kicked off. I'll message the coalition so that we can be ready to join one, and then immediately afterward post what town we have joined on the board.

Well, whenever you join a town, Bael, your coalition will follow (at least those players that are available). So the vital thing is that you let Squishy know ASAP when you join a town, so he can follow you before it's full.

You can get them back quite easily if you're prepared to use your AP. Just go out of town, choose a random direction, see who entered/left the region and which direction they went. Follow that until you find your resources :)

Griefers usually don't go too far because they don't want to get stranded outside.

I saw that my coalition joined another group, so I decided to join a town.. But it would be good to join on the weekend if possible, when we can get a group right after the zombie attack and (hopefully) gather some evidence to further support my theory that the most obsessive/best people join right after the attack ;)

Hehe, if they are angry it at least means that they are playing, and that they care. Which is more than I can say about some towns :)

Take today, for example. We are between 80 and 100 defense short. And not a single defensive building was built. GO TEAM! Needless to say, I am camping out.

Ps, if a town gets devastated, do all the items and the water from the well get lost?

Pps: If you are camping out, and take time to improve your campsite and install some items, do they still count if you find a tomb, or must you "find a place to hide"?

It looks like the items remain, but one can no longer get water from the well. Town got owned last night as expected, and I was camping out. Tonight shall be my second night under the stars. Got lots of water, so things are looking good. Apparently your chances of surviving each subsequent day decrease, so we shall see!

Haha, yes fleugs, the game is very unforgiving of mistakes.

I'm thinking of perhaps leaving my coalition, because nothing whatsoever is going on in it (two people are always playing random towns and getting owned within 2-3 days, while the other two seem mostly afk...).

On "Your soul", bottom right, you can "Search for another Soul". We currently have two full coalitions, so unfortunately you couldn't join either. But as said above, I may leave mine, then we can go together :)

I presume that you are able to load it outside then (seems logical)? I ask an obvious question because I know that one cannot purify water outside with a container and tablets.

My town is about to be overrun by the advancing wave of zombies (it's interesting -  they seem to come from side and advance in a wide front - in the image below they are advancing from the bottom left), so I've removed further east. Used to be just four blocks north of the town. I had to kill some zombies with a waterbomb 2 blocks north of the town, and get injured 1 block north (which was fine because I knew there was bandage in town. Then the car door got me back out :)).

And yes, its very lonely being the last survivor lol :)) So I'm posting here instead of the d2n forums!

PS, anyone know how to make the posted picture a thumbnail?

It seems I have been finding quite a lot of batteries myself, don't have a use for them right now. Just spent the maximum of 10 ap upgrading my campsite, and my last ap to find a tomb. Which brings me to this question: I have only ever seen "You reckon your chances of surviving here are decent : you just have to hope for the best!"

The above is the best that I have ever seen - has anyone seen anything better? That is what I have seen tonight, and on the previous two nights in my previous camp site where I upgraded it with three trestles over two nights (as well as numerous ap spent improving it and then finding a tomb).

That's because you keep on joining random towns while we are trying to gather people for the next town. But yes, Darksun doesn't seem to be playing anymore, and I'm not sure about Dominicus.

I'm still camping on day six -  while it is rather boring I would like to see how far I can get (have already camped for 3 nights). I'm not sure that our coalition will ever get over half the people to be ready to join a game with you guys.

No. If you choose not to join a random town, and you set yourself to 'available', you will be dragged in when another coalition member joins a random town. In our coalition we coordinate to see when everybody will be dead at the same time, and then someone joins a town - so we're all together.

And of course if there's people dieing sooner (D'Este? :p) they join a town until we're all ready again :)

Yeah, you can change your status from "available" to "unavailable".

Hmm...I wonder why it dissolved? I was not the leader...perhaps Darksun dissolved it? I've sent you an invite so long - hopefully we can get some towns together now.

I will keep the forum updated here on what the status is of the new coalition.

Ps: gathering is going really well - just found some plywood and a water pistol. Now if only I had some extra water left for it :( (down to 1 ration, to be drunk tomorrow). Edit: Eh, only got "largely satisfactory" for tonight. Hope I make it!

So, total so far would be 81. 88 if I survive tonight, and 96 for tomorrow night. I still find it funny that the town wiped on day three.  8)

I am quite curious about how the veteran towns work - if you have over 100 points, would you random both types of towns? That would certainly be possibly the biggest incentive to buy Hero status. Secondly, if the first person randoms a 100 town, but the others in the coalition do not have 100 points...what then?

I got one town that lasted until day 10, +55 points there. All my others have failed to last to day 5 :P

I think you only get the option of veteran towns, but I'm not sure.

Ok, so tonight was a failure. Not only did I somehow survive with only sleeping in a tomb (no region enhancements) on my fifth consecutive night in the desert (whats up with that?), but Zakilevo (Tony J) has joined a town too early. It will likely be full by the time Squishy comes online.

For future reference: we must join a town only once Squishy is online, and the people who have just died have had a chance to leave the last town.

Edit: I'm just seeing whether Zak and Fleugs want to try again tomorrow (have their characters get eaten on day one), we just all join towns and try again next time we are all dead.

This will perhaps be a bit more than an hour after the start of the attack, or later if he gets held up like yesterday (which was 3 hours after the attack).

Update: Ok, so three are currently available. Just waiting for Tony to leave town, then waiting on squishy. I'm going to be turning in shortly, so it will be up to one of them to coord it.

Awesome. Just waiting on Zak to leave his town (hopefully soon). I think the clock is just the daily cycle. For me it is the same time as me, so I can use it as a clock.

Expeditions

As you can see, we are in quite a dangerous area. What time would be good for us to meet and run an expedition or two? Going by game time, most of the day (9am to 9pm) is available, varying on days. 10 am would be perfect for me.

There's a manbag you can find for extra space, but it seems to be rare. Otherwise, as a Hero you can be a Tamer and get extra space.

Also, if you use 6 AP to search around, you can drink your water ration / food to get back, freeing up an extra space and allowing you to grab something as you move back.

Manbag (+1 items), Shopping Trolly (+2 items, can't carry heavy), Ultra-Rucksack (+2 items). All of those are exclusive, so best to go for an Ultra-Rucksack if you find one. You can also find a Utility Belt which can be used in conjunction with any of those to give +1 items.

There's a manbag you can find for extra space, but it seems to be rare.

I've found manbags to be pretty common, actually. Maybe I'm just lucky?

If I am not mistaken they do not spawn randomly. They slowly spread out to neighboring regions. I know this because when my town got wiped out last time I was in the bottom left corner of the map, which I cleaned out. It took zombies 3 days to to reach me. They didn't pop out of nowhere.

I've read something similar on the World Forums. Zombies will spawn around other zombies and in regions with abandoned buildings. Looking at our map, however, this doesn't seem right as a few of the buildings have less zombies than the regions around them.

Yeah, I read about that too. That and the fact that if you kill one zombie during the day, another one in the region dismantles during the night (which really saves loads of ammo!). So you get to control them by going into a region and killing one or two guys - meaning you actually killed 2-4 - and they'll first regenerate in that region, then spread to the next.

Did anyone ever try to actually kill off all zombies instead of hiding in the village? Or would it just take X days to do that, X being over the possible amount of survived days.

People do kill the zombies to keep the lands clean for scavenging, but the zombies that are on the world beyond don't interfere with the number of zombies during the nightly attack.

A Coalition lets you play in the same town as the other guys in your coalition. You both have to be waiting at the same time, then as soon as one of you joins, the other person joins too. You also get a nice little chat feature.

I'd like this a lot. :) Even if only one person comes over, it'd be good enough to give us some tips on the spot. Guides are pretty good, but everyday I still face questions I don't have who to ask or with whom to discuss: newbie towns usually have lots of newbies who don't discuss, and oldies who don't have the patience to post unless we're doing something really wrong.

Anyways; if you read up a bit online: the guides will get you quite far.

By the way, I'm trying to find a construction guide of sorts, with building orders and reasons for choosing them. Have anyone see on of those? If so, link?

I haven't seen a construction guide, but I think it all depends on the circumstances anyway.
A base build order would be:

*Search tower and workshop on day one (crucial)
*great wall, and great pit after (if possible the Wall also on day 1)

Depending on the water supply go for pump earlier or later, and also the veggie plot. After that it's just upgrading whatever defenses you can in order to stay ahead of the zombie growth

I haven't made it past day 10 yet :) We needed emergency defenses and everything, but I think it's best to avoid those if possible, building foundations and other upgrades instead/

Though I'm having great fun where I am now, I wouldn't mind switching over. But I'd like to see some stats on who's playing first :)

lol, ain't that realistic though. In real crisis situations you'll have all types. Some would be subversive because they're super selfish, others might be too shocked by fear to do anything but take up oxygen and other resources, some might get the idea that they should turn on their fellow survivors to increase their own odds, some just turn into sheep to allow whoever screams the loudest to herd them, some scream louder and louder to gain dominion over the sheep. And apart from the aforementioned bunch of idiots, there might be one or two actually competent survivors. If they can take command of the group, the group generally succeeds. If not, then the group generally does poorly, and the competent survivor has mixed results depending on his/her actions. Too much effort into continuing to attempt helping survivors who don't want or can't be saved will often lead to the competent one going down with the rest of them. If he takes some more actions geared towards self-preservation, that often leads to the sole/very small group of survivors left standing at the end.

And this can be gained through the testimonials of survivors of disasters like plane crashes, shipwrecks, etc.

We have two coalitions of 10 active people, and 2 other people who are currently figuring out the game and will make a coalition soonish (perhaps). This makes a total of 12 people, of which 11 play BM.

PS:I didn't even see that people used up so much AP yesterday building building foundations, portal lock and armour...

Well done, did we get everyone or are there others?  Also, are there any other heroes besides myself?  If your on the fence about it and it helps you don't use hero days when your not in a game, so whenever we wait and try to setup our coalitions into a town we won't be wasting hero days.  We really need number of coalitions minus one in heroes to play together effectively as one coalition can join a random town and the other coalitions with a hero can follow.  If it is just me as a hero then really we can only have the two coalitions and everyone else will have to play alone.

I'm not sure about my chances though because one guy put his house defense up to 16 and I've only got mine at 9 so unless he gets hit with 17 zombies before I randomly get assigned 10 this probably won't happen.

As far as I know, the winner is chosen randomly. So the amount of defense that you have doesn't matter if you all end up dying, even if you only had a tent. I reckon you will get 400+ tonight, as I strongly suspect the report of "Tonight's attack: 195 - 300 " is way off -we were attacked by (356?) last night. And I doubt the attack numbers are supposed to go down...

The defenses will probably be about 340, counting the bonus from the pit upgrade (51), so there is a chance that he might survive, although I wouldn't bet on it. With only 4 people to share the zombies, there will be plenty to go around.

Yeah, I was kicking myself for not staying. Then we would have had a 50% chance of getting it...that is why it is better to wait until later in the day before acting :/

Damn, and I'm not with you. But the town I have right now is really cool. Veggie field and almost 300 defenses up on day 4. Few deaths so far, strong scavenging troops, strong builders - we get over 100 AP into building every day, reliably. Really rocks. We'll get around 350 zombies tonight, and I'm not afraid.

I had a town like that, we managed to get to day 10 before someone used our Concrete Blocks on Foundations instead of a Stone Cannon and we got killed :(

Just be sure to watch out for people wasting Nuts & Bolts and Concrete Blocks, gets ridiculously difficult to get them when the zombies start to surround the town.

We just got out of a Town where we survived 13 days, that was very nice. Now we got into a new town full of griefers, stealers, people with 20+-shunned history and other not-so-friendly people, so we're trying to kill ourselves and not waste our days there.

Last night the gates got left open in my town, so I"m one of four survivors. I was over the town, so hopefully we all get wiped tonight. I wonder if the hero-days for LMS still work the same?

Wow that is a number of towns to be in within a week.  We are on our first town still on day 7 at the moment.  Though zombies have risen to the 240-340 range and we only have about 240 defences so not looking great for tonight especially since most of our effort has been in getting a 35 point defense structure that still isn't finished yet.

Heh, we got search tower AND architects study. We even found factory plans last night. However, as I say, the town is dead. What is interesting is that the stuff costs a lot less to build (the houses).

Each one of us went to a separate town, is what I meant ;)

I'm dead! Someone left our gates open again. Last time only one person died because of some new feature that ensures not everyone dies during an attack. This time we had 11 deaths >.<

I'm not really liking the new season, it seems like survival is a lot more luck based. That wouldn't be too bad if there weren't griefers, but those guys make it even harder to stay alive now >.<

Well I don't know about it now but you used to need resources to upgrade your house after the first level (tent).

You need those resources to quickly build the town defense not some individual's house defense. If you play in a good town,

they will ban you for upgrading your house calling you 'selfish'.

There are 2 major ways to play the game I think.

One - stay in the town and help others build stuff. Like working in the construction site.

Two - Go out and gather resources. This gets very tough after day 6 or 7 if your town didn't clear zombies around the town constantly. Squares around the town will be depleted within four days if you search hard. After that you have to go even farther and if you go too far you won't be able to come back.

Those two do exist though often a builder will gather a little or some people might go 50/50.  So a pure builder would just sit in town and spend his AP on building buildings or converting useless materials into useful materials.  The pure searcher will spend all their AP going outside hitting up a bunch of regions to search and then making their way home on a different path so they can search all those spots as well because you can only search each square once a day unless you use auto search.  Most builders won't just spend all AP constructing they'll move outside of town one square and search then let their character auto search for a number of hours and move back into town then spend the rest of their AP constructing.  So on a normal day you get 6 AP when you wake, if you drink water 6 AP more, and if you eat another 6 AP and that is fairly normal to get 18 AP but easily 12 at least so a builder to spend 2 AP moving just outside of town to perhaps find 3 or more items is fairly worth it.  A builder with more scavenging in mind after a couple days see that the zones immediately around the town are depleted so you'll mostly find junkie items might spend a couple more AP moving further out of town to auto scavenge zones that aren't depleted yet.

I'll drop you an invite to our coalition - we currently only have four people. Right now is a good time to join, because a new season has just started, so a lot of people are learning about the new game (it has changed a lot).

Two important things above what has been said already: (1) if you want to go outside, make sure you plan your route properly, and that you will have enough AP to get back. (2) For now, stick to zones that have already been explored. You won't run into dangerous regions this way, and will live longer.

Yeah, I believe that before day five, if you die on that day (including in the attack), your achievements for the same day will not count. They will count if you die in the attack after day five, however. Dehydration, cyanide and infection will make you lose anything from that day, regardless of what day it is.

if someone tell me which town to join... i have flu/cold/something and won't be around for much of tomorrow (to do the joining immediately after the other coalition?... every time i look, i can only see 2 small maps that i can join... unless someone else tells me another way) . i am <100 points..

You follow your Coalition if you're set as ready. To have everyone join up, you just need 1 Hero in each Coalition joining the same Town.

I won't be online at night anymore to organise the joining, so someone else from my coalition will need to do it.

The procedure is as follows:


1)Set a date to join together. As we have not heard from Alpha, I do not know when they will be joining us. So for now we wait.
2)Make sure the hero from Coalition alpha is online (he will post here).
3)Wait until there are faraway regions available with fewer players in them  (or at least none with 30+ players in already).
4)Join a town, then post here what it is so coalition A. can follow.

Theres a new rule that limits the amount of 'coalition players' to 20, including Heroes who joined by themselves by picking the town from the list

Ours does look that good either.  Left gates open on day one, luckily no one died in the town, but we did lose 8 people who decided it would be cool to stay outside during the attack.  So I guess we'll have another shot at joining up again soon.

have 1 ap to spare to close the door and hope the 2 multies die 1st.

and what happens? game site too many connections..

Depends, if I don't have to have all the resources in my rucksack, but can have some in my chest, then I can. Air Raid Shelter needs 5 items to build, but both rucksack and chest only have 4 slots.

If it comes down to just me and you, then I'll let you have the hero days. You've wasted your days on a noob town so seems only fair I let you top yours up a bit more.

we are all in houses now... and we can't build the shelter/upgrade further.. i tried. we need a town building called "Builders' Merchant"

which was why i had to take a 2nd drug - i used ap to make extra iron that turned out to be unnecessary

as for the hero days.. no big deal... not like i paid for it.

ps... don't go and die deliberately... my char has a clock ticking over his head... the drugs thing

For myself, in D2N I always try make sure I have two options. Two outs, an ace up the sleeve, a bird in the hand...eh scratch the last one  ;D

Why do I say this? Well, at the moment you have a 1 in 4 shot at the LMS tonight ishi. If everyone wipes tonight, whoever gets it, gets it. All the defense of the houses will not matter in determining who gets it, because it is random. However, if you survive tonight, you won't get it even if you are the only survivor.  Because dying from withdrawal doesn't grant LMS. Unless you can get some more drugs somewhere...

So getting hooked on drugs ultimately killed one of your outs. Now you either have to get it tonight (which is why I suggest you leave the gates open/open them if the multi closes them), or find some more drugs tomorrow (you will have 18ap to do this but it's still quite a risk).

The main thing is to make sure that Squishy is online when you join a town. He will post here when he comes online, no doubt. If you just join a town, and he has been delayed, it will fill up before he gets a chance to join.

The ideal time to join is when there are only towns with less than 25 people in them. Because you will be randoming a town, you might end up in one that is almost full if you join when there are towns that have 30+ people. Then all the waiting would be wasted, because Squishy might not be able to join it.

Finally, once a town has been joined, post whichever one it is here and we can get going ;)

i'll be autosearching in 1,-3 until tonight. i've dropped the battery launcher with 1 spare battery and a twinoid 500mg that i found so far on the floor there, in case someone passes by and desperately needs it before i take it home.

Quite often people don't even bother to update the map from items to depleted even when the items are gone. I just mark depleted, myself. And mark everything else on the exmap.

EDIT: got Jarpen now. Can almost taste that architects study already  ;D

Yep...thankfully only one got killed though.

This Deckm has the smell of a griefer...Not only has he not apologised, but now he took two pharmaceuticals as soon as he returned (along with food, the knife he broke, and something to repair it - although these are more reasonable).

If he gets stuck out again, we should just leave him.

Edit: he is pretty active at searching buildings though, i'll give him that. I'm going to keep an eye on him regarding griefing...

Second Edit: I'm looking to rescue those guys that are stuck out there. Even with extra equipment, I don't think that I can do it on my own. Anyone up for a mission? You will need food and water.

Well I can stop with the booze but I can't stop with the drugs.  I want to leave the steroids in there so I'm switching over to unlabeled drugs, the only problem is I might have to take more than one to get the drugged effect for the day.  I also was taking the waking the dead because every town that I've been in that got destroyed had useful items in the bank like that for extra AP and I thought if we used all those items earlier for AP perhaps we wouldn't have died so soon.

Exterminator (200 zeds, need 48 more.)
Alone in the Dark (25 sleeps outside, 10 more)

Zen Camper (not a title until 10* are done).
Fearless adventurer (30x distant discoveries, 26 more)

I'm huddling up, got my house full of defences, got it upgraded and managed to barely complete the Rock Cannon + voted for Great Pit to up defences to 354 with 19 house defence. Also looted everyone and sprinkled most of them with water.

Hehe, we could have done with a hacksaw :)

On the plus side, we camped every building within the Search Tower sight (5 or 6 of them), and got advanced map, search tower and small factory. Unfortunately the town wasted too many pharms, and spent too much time building/doing fluff, so had too little defense.

Just to give an update: my current town has about 22 heroes in it, and we have 38 alive still on day 3. It is looking pretty good, so we should at least finish in the top 10 towns. I am considering making this my last town this season, although I might join some towns just to camp.

Yeah, what the people (fodgeycakes) realised was that with pretty much all attacks occurring -where there are 10 people or less left in town- only 150 zeds will actually attack the people (and the rest will be 'lazy'). So what they did was build up their houses, and they managed to find two blueprint buildings that  increased their individual house defense even more. So the town effectively cannot die, unless they run out of water. The end of the season will likely spell the end of the town, however, and the end of the strategy.

How many people are still actively playing this, by the way?

I really want to play another town with both coalitions.

And I want us to check everyone else in the town on day one, and collectively shun everyone who is obviously a griefer (many banishments or hangings, or suspiciously day 1 deaths).

I'm sick and tired of the game being overrun by them. We need to clean out the town and then run it like a machine, guiding the newbies and helping them, and being absolutely ruthless to anyone who gets in our way. That way we'll have a chance of survival.

With 10 people in town, we can banish anyone we don't like.

On the matter of the MMJ, as you know it is on the 16th. Yeah. Getting to day 5 isn't that hard, but from there it's all luck. Even disregarding the table, you need good blueprints and all that.

Same here. When I started playing, good planning and teamwork could get you through. Now, it's mostly good or bad luck, with the dice and the number of griefers you get.
