Title: when does a knights etate get a stipend??
Post by: Macro on September 10, 2014, 06:12:51 PM
Hi:
Would like to know when an estate gets remunerated? I am just about broke. Is it weekly or monthly that the estates pays gold.
as well, just how as a knight do I get into a army? I want to get more involved in the game and in role play. Getting statrted seems to be difficult but perhaps I am rushing it.
Could use a mentor.

The maximum delay is a week. The banker has the option to call it more frequently. If you have an estate, the lord of the region is the one with the power to assign you to armies, you should contact him.

Estate income is provided whenever your realm has a tax day. This is normally every 7 days. The banker of the realm can choose to call it early, but then you only get taxes for as many days as are in that tax period. If no early tax is called, it will automatically happen on Day 7. It can never be longer than that.

You can find out the next tax day by going to your Realm and Regions page. Go to the Information tab and hit the top link in the center column titled "Realm and Regions". Or hit this URL when logged into a character: http://battlemaster.org/stable/RealmDetails.php?ID=-1

There will be an entry named: "Tax Collection". IIRC that is the day the taxes are gathered from the regions. They are distributed to characters the next day.

Note that the amount you get will vary, based on the income of the region, the size of your estate (listed as a percent of the total region), and the lord's share of your estate's income. (Yes, your lord gives you your income, and then taxes it back from you. :P )

Also, new characters get gold from their families automatically, two times. I forget exactly when, something like 3 days after creation and then again at 7 days.

You can also ask your realm mates for some extra gold to help you out. Most realms have some kind of system to distribute gold from the rich dukes and margraves to the rest of the realm. You usually send a message to some Council of Lords, or a Military Council, or sometimes to the army. Send an IG message to your realm asking how they do it.

For getting into an army, that depends on your situation.
* If you are a knight with an estate, your lord will assign you to an army. Send a letter to your lord asking him to assign you to one. They probably forgot.
* If you are a lordless noble, you can assign yourself to any army by going to the Politics tab, and hitting the appropriate link. I think it is named "Assign yourself to an army..."
* Dukes, Council members, etc. who are not lords can assign themselves to an army in the same manner as a lordless noble, using the "Assign yourself to an army..." link.
* Lords can assign themselves and their knights to armies by going to Politics > "Assign knights to armies..."
