I'm going to detox in a few days to get my bloodstream and my brainstream right. I will not be smuggling a cell phone and charger into the facility in my underwear this time, so I will be detoxing from a lot of drugs including BM.

I'm not leaving detox til I finish reading these books:

Sun Tzu - The Art of War http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/ListingDetails?bi=22462372021
Bukowski - Factotum http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/ListingDetails?bi=22455675121
Short fic of N Mailer - http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/ListingDetails?bi=11995943868
Huck Finn - http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/ListingDetails?bi=13433654661
Abe Lincoln vamp hunter
http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/ListingDetails?bi=13793519632
John Adams
http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/ListingDetails?bi=17065266051
Swordsmen and Supermen http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/ListingDetails?bi=20773221506
On War http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/ListingDetails?bi=22422566551
http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/ListingDetails?bi=19286417308 how much land does a man need?
Tom sawyer http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/ListingDetails?bi=22449508233

All of these with expedited shipping cost less than 71 dollars. Separately they are all less than ten a book.

I am presently homeless and have been for a while now. Not the first time in the last three years.

Colasan and Unterstrom. Ikalak and Toren Stronghold. Fontan, Domus and Isadril. Sleeping on pavement.

Consider this a kickstarter rather than an ending. If interested, i can pm my shipping address where ill be detoxing for hopefully a long while. Maybe two weeks.

read Dostoyevsky, it will do you much more good during dark times then all that cold tactical stuff.
His books have the tendency to fill a certain void, perceived bottomless without really giving straight forward answers.
For me he has been honestly inspiring in life, but also in writing.

May i ask what your kicking from?
Either way, good luck, stay strong when you get out, that's when the detox really starts ;)

Well i would not object to dostoevsky at all. Just not on the list. Cold and tactical works for me. Strategy im not so good at irl. Im kicking that john doe, that stuff you dont even know what youre smoking.

Bukowski is also among your selection, isnt that just plain depressive to read in a rehab?
What about reading hunter s thompson while your kicking? ;)

I usually read Fantasy, sci-fi, some romance, and other non-fiction.

How about some Isaac Asimov and his series Foundation? That stuff is complex though  :-X

This topic is turning into a book club discussion(!)

Asimov is pretty awesome, especially foundation, most famous are his robot books and his three laws of robotics
I enjoyed all of the books i read from him.
Frank herbert's dune is quite similar(inspired by foundation) and also very immersive.
HG wells is my favorite scifi writer, his stories are usually quite short and predictable in a certain way that i enjoy but very visionary.
He wrote allot including some very different works in his later years, which are much longer and less fiction like, written like history books, or a weird plea for a world government. Really weird but intresting.

If where going into this direction then i'd also advise reading up on fahrentheit 451 by Ray bradbury and brave new world by Aldous Huxley, if you like orwell's 1984'ish scifi.

I agree Frank Herberts 'Dune' series is some great sci-fi. His son Brian Herbert co-wrote the 'Dune' prequals; Butlerian Jihad, The Machine Crusade and the Battle for Corrin; with the author of Star Wars (name escapes me). Although on a different level to Frank Herbert, I found the prequals very enjoyable and very easy reading.

I wish you luck with your journey. Don't stay away for too long.

The Herbert's wrote a fun short story about aliens that was quite funny too.

If you haven't read it, I recommend Edgar Burroughs Mars novels. Fantastically progressive for their time.

Selenia might indeed be older but is it polite to point out woman's age? :P

All right, let em roll.

Out-of-Character from Jonn Dodger
all nobles of Westfold
All right guys, it has been fun but it's past time for me to go.

I intended to leave the game a couple of weeks ago when I checked myself into rehab. The only reason I came back was a sense of responsibility towards Westfold but unfortunately there is nothing I can do for Westfold anymore.

Please rest assured this has nothing to do with the battle or anything anyone of you has done, its a decision I have been putting off for some time but it needs to be made for my quality of life.

I've been stuck in a rut in rl for some time and I am going to need my full mental bandwidth to get out of it. Battlemaster is a distraction I can no longer afford.

I realize this is going to shift a great deal of responsibility that I was previously carrying onto other shoulders and I apologize for that. I hope everyone understands and I thank you all for being a great group of players and sticking together through all the ups and downs.

Goodbye and good luck.
