BM General Discussion / Re: Most militia

I don't remember the precise number, but the most I've seen was in Anacan during the final battle for the Antoza Commonwealth on FEI.

Development / An idea on provisions
« on: August 30, 2012, 05:19:04 PM »
I haven't seen this posted anywhere on the forum regarding provisions. It may be against the balance behind the idea.

In addition to the current way to get provisions, why can't a noble buy provisions like paraphernalia? A region lord could set aside x bushels to be sent to the market to be purchased as provisions. The conversion from bushels to provisions would depend on unit size.

I didn't post this as a feature request because I wanted to get some input on it first.

Without the limits you'd see a few 4,000CS ducal steamrollers, and everyone not a Duke would have about 500CS.

BM General Discussion / Re: Adventurers Combat Gear
« on: August 28, 2012, 06:13:55 PM »
How does everyone RP an adventurers gear? What im getting at is basically the costs. Once you have spent all the gold needed for 100% gear thats like 250 gold or more for the single skill set. Near 500 gold for both adventuring and combat gear. How does that compare to say a nobles gear or even a lords. In my mind 100% combat gear is some pretty good stuff. Perhaps rivaling even a lords. Now I know nobles do not need to "buy" armor and weapons but I dont ever really hear anyone describing their nobles equipment. For adventurers on the other hand this is done by some as we have something to gauge our descriptions against.

I'd imagine even 100% adventurer gear would be nothing compared to what the great lords would wear.

I try to send all new players a welcoming message shortly after they join any realm I'm playing in.

I'd recommend FEI as well, as even the larger realms are relatively small in comparison with realms on the larger islands. Plus, there is a fairly large war going on right now.  I can only speak for Kindara and Arcaea, but both are relatively active.

Helpline / Re: Provisions?

Nonsense.

As long as the region you are in does not suffer from starvation, there is absolutely no effect from provisions. If the city isn't starving, you can stay in it forever.

So I'm assuming that I shouldn't be eating my provisions if I'm in a non-starving friendly city?

It could also be quite localized, like heavy rains on a battlefield that would render infantry quite impaired since they are stuck in the mud.  Again, being on the receiving end may be infuriating, but it has happened in the past.

Now I don't actually have a problem with this since weather is already implemented per battle, and has an impact on archer performance.

I'd be happy for some input on two questions:
  • interface - where to provide these options best? I think it should be limited to people you've interacted with, so somewhere in the message system?
  • effects - brainstorm, please.

What is currently the contact list seems to be an excellent place to interface it. Even now it distinguishes between corespondents, realmmates, and people that have been met.

Not really sure about effects. I'll wait to see some other suggestions before adding something.

Feature Requests / Re: Disputed Lordships
« on: July 28, 2012, 08:41:27 PM »
Huh. Exile implies they're cut off from any income, can't raise troops, etc. Effectively, an exiled noble is a nobody with absolutely no power who's been kicked out of his nation and left to his own devices. Getting taxes or having an estate - period - is completely opposite of what exile is or implies. Exile should mean what its supposed to mean, that you're cut off and need to find another realm to live in because you're getting absolutely nothing from where you were exiled from.

I don't think it works that way anymore, but I can't say for certain.

I'm eager to see what the in-game effects might be, and I think it's a good idea.

Feel free to exile or assassinate them.

Is exile even a major problem for a royal duke? I mean don't they still get gold, not bonds, every tax so long as they're in the realm? If that is the case, shouldn't an exiled duke be able to outlast a ruler almost always?

As for assassination, if a Duke is incapacitated can the ruler appoint another? I've seen this brought up a few times, but I don't know if it is actually a solution.

There is a fair amount of activity on the BugTracker at the moment. I would expect that most of the bugs are in the process of being fixed.
