Helpline / Re: Surrender duels as a training method
« on: April 05, 2012, 01:17:21 AM »
I have no idea why a king, duke, or even baron would risk his position with no gain from it. If someone wants to duel for the position they should have to have a risk too not just the one being challenged. Also I doubt your rebellions, secessions and wars theory will really happen, the only thing I can see is the judge fining the title holder until he gives it up and even then its unfair because the one who dueled still has no way to gurantee they get because appointing has to be agreed upon by the duke and elections use either the lords or all nobles. Again its lopsided as one would risk a lot by challenging someone to a duel for the title in the first place and then they don't get anything from it except a reputation of being aggresive?

I know of a character that has declared duels on several others due to his honor feeling hurt by them just recently so it does seem that people are using it for its purpose. One has accepted but with time to train so people are accepting too. Also he didn't use the game mechanic yet but a letter of his wanting to duel.

Development / Re: Not being able to kick out priests of a religion

If you want a conflict just make sure a message is sent to all members that the priest was kicked. Small religions might be losing their only priest and larger ones will have members who supported the priest argueing about it all for sure, if the priest was actually doing anything to help the religion.

He wasn't acting rude or aggressive or anything so though he may of cheated but that doesn't mean he is trolling by posting a good idea to the forum.

That's because you are the Lord of a region too. They can found armies.
I beleive if you already sponsor an army, regardless of position you can sponsor a new one.

Roleplaying Event   (just in)
Message sent to everyone in the vicinity of Paisly (24 recipients)

As the morning sun rises over Paisly, strange lights are reported in the sky. At first, you dismiss the peasant superstition, but then dark clouds rise up from somewhere near the harbor, slowly drifting out to sea. This is no ordinary smoke, for it hangs heavily in the air and does not disperse. Like smoke, it does make breathing difficult.

The cloud gets thicker and larger, and then some peasants report that they are hearing strange noises from out at sea where the clouds are gathering, hanging over the water now, not moving despite the wind. They almost seem to be waiting...
Event Dummy

Perhaps the blight is coming to Dwilight, which I mean the Zuma will start blighting regions, not just claiming them though it does say Event Dummy so perhaps its only a teaser for the future.

The complication of schism was brought up because Bedwyr said the idea was already fleshed out and needed to be coded so I don't see how its a complication and it was only one idea, not the only idea brought up.

Well if it does not include the priests being kicked out in the new schism system then this discussion is still needed to verify how the removing of the priests will be done.

I like it except the last paragraph.
Edit:Also if enough of the members vote for the priest, he becomes the sole elder of the religion while the rest who disagreed become the schism.

Sorry to burst it, but this is a side-project, it's not for BM. Sorry.
If its not for BM, what is it for? I am just curious.
