Helpline / Re: Faulty Battle Allegiances

Step #3 doesn't explain two battles in Nascot where in one, Perdan and Perleone (allies) fought alongside monsters against Highmarch, and another where Perdan just watched as monsters fought against Highmarch.

Highmarch was peasants. Perdan and Perleone are allies, Perleone is at Neutral with Highmarch, and I think Perdan is at Neutral too. Perleone was looting the region and probably had attack orders.

Title:
Preview button on standing orders

Summary:
Add a preview button to Standing Orders update.

Details:
Like messages, just below the box, would be ideal. Don't forget to keep the checkbox from the post page into the preview page (goes without saying).

Benefits:
Better looking and clearer orders! No more double posting when a mistake happens!

Possible Downsides/Exploits: I'll give a cookie to anyone who can find one.

Stephanie, I just got a first hand account from Smiddich Fontaine of your Lady Gia.

Really lovely stuff. <3

Feature Requests / Re: Email Alerts
May 14, 2018, 07:58:28 PM
Well, I thought this would refer to a different kind of alert that I believe could really improve player retention: character event alerts. Pick some: participated in battle, received a duel challenge or a unique item offer, liege paused/quit, new referendum to vote in, new knight joined your region, maybe even "got letter from your /council member, liege, council member from other realms/" or "you have 13 unread letters from your realm, one of them is a private letter" (after a few days of not logging in", "realm X has declared war on your realm", stuff like that.

Does it make sense? I liked how Might and Fealty kept sending me reminders about my chars.

Other Games / Re: AoE 2 HD

Yes, awesome. I can hardly wait!

Just wished they'd do something like that for Theme Hospital too. I'd love being able to play it on my current PC. Still have the game, but it always fails or shows graphic problems.

Actually, I play AoE regularly, about at least twice a year, on our local network. Some friends bring their own pcs, and we play to our hearts content. Yes, the AI is mean and overpowered and boring, but playing with friends is still awesome, be it singles, doubles, teams, or even sharing civilizations. Imagine being able to play online again!

Also, Age of Kings just isn't as much fun. I played it twice and never again. Age of Mithology is a bit better. But AoE rules!

When I first played strongly, my answer to this would definitely be "no". After I've actually lost an island (SEI), and a realm I was pretty much involved in (Falasan on AT), I did quit playing. Not on purpose, and I still loved battlemaster, but I didn't find the strength to get deeply involved in whole other politics in whole new worlds.

So, this time, I'm playing more lightly, and honestly haven't found yet a place I feel like home at, so... if any island sank this time I'd just keep playing. Since it wasn't always true, I'd rather answer for the time when I was most committed.

Er...no. I don't see how it could.

It would be possible that the skill-level limitation is bugged such that everyone has an approximately even chance against monsters, but not so that an advy with 55% skill and equipment would be more likely to be wounded or die than with 25%.

My guess would be, whoever said that is either just frustrated and having some confirmation bias issues, or missing the fact that at higher skill levels, you can skip the early groups altogether and start on harder groups.

Probably. That's why I said I'd start taking note of my own.

What does change in higher tiers? As skill increases what happens? Chance against monsters improves, or just the ability to go into the higher tiers - that means, less use of hours and fatigue gained? If we can start at higher groups, shouldn't we fight these groups with the same ease that a low-skill fights a lower level group? Do we spend much less hours killing larger groups and end up reaching proportionately higher groups on the same turn?

If that's true at all, it's definitely a bug.

I'm looking at the monster-fighting code right now, and it doesn't even look at your equipment except to limit your skill level.

The problem could be with skill level, then. Not sure. As I said, I'm still at the very low tiers (5-10%).

I love playing advies exactly because of that. You can interact, roleplay, do your thing or work together, all that without having to worry about wars, politics, and whatnot. It's my comic relief, it's the char where I go to rest. I can't play BM wihtout an advy anymore. :)

However, I don't know why, but it's been awfully hard to hunt, lately. I don't remember it being so bad being wounded last time I played an advy. All I do is get wounded, and it has been lasting 3-4 days at a time, enough for me to stop hunting larger than 3-5 groups. I think the wounding system was improved to be more meaningful to nobles, but it really hurt the advies. Someone also said that above a certain equipment tier/skill level, the game becomes harder, you get wounded much worse, and more frequently, fighting the same groups you did on lower equip, so they stopped purchasing equip above 55% (was that it?)

I haven't reached that high yet, but maybe there's a bug? I'll try to keep some kind of hunting record on my advy in Belu, to see if this stands true...

Thanks!

I'd be glad to take orders for new projects but I'm afraid I have no time currently for that  :( My quarter exams are driving me crazy!

hahaha okay. :)
Well, when you do have the time, I'd love trading you something for a Bluelake family portrait. ;)

I've given some activity to the thread on the Battletech forum  ;)

Great art you made there. Do you take orders? :P
