More than likely that has more to do with software than forum permissions.

Back on topic, Dwilight in general has erupted into a chaotic mess, with three small realms (Asylon, Farronite Republic, and Niselur) attacking one rather large realm (Astrum) in the north. Morek is fighting Libero in the east, while Luria has declared war on D'Hara. Barca is starting to become a rather strong realm while the Grand Duchy of Fissoa has started to assimilate ex-Aurvandil lands. Pick any realm, you'll have trouble choosing wrong.
Asylon is a "small realm"? What Dwilight are you playing on? Dwilight-2 or something? Does everyone have goatees?

Whatever.

The merger failed anyway. Like, epically failed, flopped on its face. So I don't care about the verdict, even though I think it's tremendous rules lawyering to say one can "surrender to a third party".

No.

If someone asks for a Coke, you ask "what kind?"
Yes - regular, diet, or cherry :P

Something about keeping an eye on the naughty cheating "ForumMaster" players that a handful of people were whining about.

More sophisticated infrastructure, and the elimination of the townsland/rural classifications (cities would remain separate), instead having something about infrastructural development that would allow rural areas to gradually be upgraded to townsland-level building capacities and townslands to be similarly downgraded.

Big cav units don't spread damage very efficiently. It might be nice to see 3k hits for ego but that unit would have retreated from half that damage.
The description on the wiki (which may or may not be up to date) says that the recruitment-cap bonus also applies to special forces, though.

And it is true that a cavalier's cavalry unit can be really huge.

Phantaria's duke is active, but only because he's also the leader and there's only one duchy :P

I think infiltrator is, by far, the most *fun* class, but it's the Dwarf Fortress type of !!FUN!! with all the risks involved.
Vanilla warrior is nice, but it just sort of looks bad, like you couldn't choose something else.
Cavalier removes some abilities and does need some sort of specialty of its own to really be totally balanced, but it looks good for RP and is the only subclass that lets you both command the same (a larger, in fact) number of troops and stay alive (unlike hero)!.

Dwilight, Atamara, and the FEI.

Coincidentally, my characters are on Dwilight, Atamara, and the FEI. Whine about it if you want - we all know that's how everyone voted. Giving them three choices (for three characters?) was practically asking for the "save my character's home" thing.

But seriously, Dwilight and FEI should be kept for sure. Dwilight has a huge number of distinctive features: SMA, donut-cities, being a testing island (that is more interesting than BT), having big ol' sea zones, and so forth. FEI is amusing because it's probably the closest we'll get to a "war island" without specifically adding one at this point. Atamara is forgettable, admittedly. I only chose it because there were republics there, and I prefer them for personal reasons.

Maybe my own biases are just keeping me from seeing it, but I'm not seeing this game-destroying ForumMaster Tom and the other powers-that-be are talking about. I'm just seeing a forum. I have yet to have my game experience damaged by the forum, and cases where that occurred, while hardly actionable anyway in the numbers I see them, are better remedied by better moderation than closing down entire, and highly active, forums because OMG PPL ARE MIXING OOC AND IC TEH END OF TEH WORLD. As mentioned before, the players who are detrimental to the game through the forum - the gossipers, information-leakers, and so forth - will just find new, unregulated, outlets for their discussion (IRC, other forums, and so on).

Like Tom says, this is entirely unofficial.

If I asked for only one island, I think we would get a lot of "Dwilight" responses, which wouldn't be as useful as knowing which two, or which three, islands are the most loved. 64% of players voted for Dwilight as one of their three islands. Now, I don't know if Dwilight was #1, #2, or #3 on their list, but knowing that 2/3rds of the players (who voted) want to keep it is a pretty strong indicator. 55% voted for FEI, and only 12% voted for the Colonies. AT, BE, and EC are basically tied, which I find interesting.

In a couple of weeks I can start another poll where keeping Dwilight and FEI as taken for granted as being safe, and people have to choose to keep 1 of the four remaining islands, assuming we don't have any major changes in the numbers.

And Tom wants to keep EC, so maybe I can drop that from the running, leaving AT,BE, and the Colonies. Then the numbers may get especially interesting.

But, I wanted to have an open poll for now.
Did Tom say he wanted to drop three islands? Maybe you misunderstood the post you quoted. I believe the discussion was about dropping one island and saving the other five, not dropping three and only keeping three.

Chateau Saffalore is apparently rogue now. Congratulations, Terran. You destroyed yourselves without us ever attacking the city.

I thought the proposal was to eliminate one island, not to only leave three. Just saying.

We bit off more than we could chew. We should have pacified Gretchew first; at first that was the plan, but the "divide and conquer" strategy just sort of materialized and everyone thought it sounded like a good idea.

I'd like to point out that TVTropes considers this game worthy of note:

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BattleMaster
No, TVTropes explicitly has no notability guidelines, unlike Wikipedia. So someone took the time to add the page, not necessarily that they found it notable. But still, that page could also use work.
