I think too many players seriously underestimate the value of carts. You pay for them once (unless you lose so many men you can't keep them all) and they do wonders for travel with many wounded. When its winter and you have wounded men, carts can be a lifesaver.

That's my point though, I've either had it where I've sustained barely any casualties to make it worth it, or I experience a total unit wipe and can't make use of them. Will they shorten travel times without wounded at all? If so then they might be worthwhile. Currently the carts are coded as being pulled along by your unit right? Maybe if they are changed so as to not require the men to pull them (pulled by horse, etc), but increase the rate of consumption of food rations, they might be more worthwhile?

Carts are good for this, but really I'm not sure even they would help with that ratio of wounded to not wounded

Which is why I tend not to bother with them. I've noticed that my characters tend to either take only a few casualties with roughly a 50% recovery rate, or get a complete unit wipe.

I think if you ask two taselakians that question you'll end up with five different answers. Which has more or less been our problem for the past little while.

It is nice having everyone come to us. I would hate to be in Morek and march from their capital to Luria. That must be what, 2 weeks travel and even longer in winter?

After the battle in outer giask my character had a travel time of seventy some odd hours just to go from one region to the next, with one healthy soldier and thirty wounded. Thankfully they all healed quickly and reduced that travel time to just a day or so, but still took a few days to get back to capital.

BM General Discussion / Re: What is your playstyle as a general/marshal?

Kill, rape, burn, all day erry day.

Ah. We had received explicit instructions against such acts by the General. Basically confined me to looting gold and food stores.

Ya, I just tried this on war island, scouting definitely was an issue as well as regular troop movement. Ended up largely just stringing the army out through several regions. Any suggestions for most effective forms of looting?

There are some families that often end up on both sides of a conflict, and whom have established enough trust that most would not think they are spying. Besides is that their character thinking, or paranoid players.

So much this. It's a player reaction brought into character actions, and it's one of the little things that work to suck the fun out of the game.

Is there a chance to reclaim lands lost to the monsters, or are they lost like regions covered by glaciers on other continents? Would be cool to form some sort of religious order dedicated to reclaiming the west.

In a game that has more than a single player, sometimes things will not always go your way. Deal with it, make the best of it that you can, and try to have as much fun with it as possible.

So have been organising some looting expeditions, and it seems that units with less than forty men cannot safely loot a region that has around 20k population in it. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this, or what any other bench marks for it are.

My bad, I wasn't aware at all. Please direct me to them, or respond with a quick outline of them.

So far the High Marshal, Marshal and VM of the main army have rebelled, along with a region lord.

The King and one recently joined noble have declared for the Loyalists

Iskra Rousseau is calling for an uprising against the current government! In a passionate speech he said:

Former King Edvard,

It is with a joyous heart that I now spark the wave of change that will sweep Fallangard clean of all that is old, slow and stuck 50 years in the past. You have shown time and again that you do not understand the current politics of the Island. You dragged us into a war that we did not want. A war that resulted in the deaths of thousands of our finest warriors and in the end, thousands of young boys, ignorant of war and eager to serve. Our realm has been locked in nearly constant warfare since our founding and has had no time to rebuild. We grow weaker by the day and are not prepared to meet a Caligan threat or support any allies we have in a decent, respectable manner.

While those of us in the Rebel Movement are pleased that you have finally exited us from the war, you do not have our trust that you will be able to lead us through any future conflict with assurance of victory. You are nearly a Century old and often lie wounded after each battle. We cannot afford to have our King repeatedly out of commission.

In conclusion, it is time for the young blood to take the reins of power and lead our mighty realm to new heights. We are the future and you are the past. Step aside and let those more capable than you lead the way.

Iskra Rousseau

High Marshal of Fallangard

Count of Abadan

Holding off on pressing the "nuke" button is not commendable or even worth noting in any way. If that is your only redeeming quality, you were an awful duke. It's like being proud that you don't kick your dog.

I think the point he's trying to make is that he didn't do so even when he had good reason to. It would be like not kicking a dog that you had every reason to kick.

Maybe, it was a while ago. The problem is my mind is swearing to me that I read something along the lines of ''embark on a ship? embarking with your current entourage will take xx gold and xx hours to do so''. Clearly my mind is trying to plot against me.
