Ahh, if it's everywhere then perhaps we shall all of us get a fair chance to preserve our favourite place? Intrigued to see where this will go anyway.

Aye, looks like strange things are going on in Colonies too. I think I can see where this is going but looking forward to an enjoyable journey.

Regarding the poll, I plumped for diplomat. Combine it with being a priest and let preaching boost your oratory skill sky high. Then, once you are an expert, enjoy having the power to restore a regions loyalty with jut a few words. Or likewise, to incite rebellion in a region just as easily. It can be a lot of fun :-)

I heared that old characters suffer from nerfs.
Nerfs that are suppose to persuade you to delete them like longer healing, fewer hours. Anyone know about that?

Yup, fewer hours. I think with my 87~ year old I get only five hours a turn these days. Wounds certainly take much longer to heal/get worse before they get better. I think your skills also begin to decline more rapidly as you get older, so if you are a champion swordsmen it becomes progressively harder to maintain your high level.

Aside: Stu's player ID was 10, my own is 34, Tom's is 35 (Which I find amusing to no end). Stu and I agreed that it was likely he managed to keep the original account from when BM spun off from SM.

I miss Stu :-(

For anyone reading this: PoE has a very unique skill tree and skill levelling system. Other than that it's just a decent ARPG that is f2p and definitely not p2w. Player atmosphere is generally quite good.

I saw a screenshot of the PoE skill tree. It looked HUGE! How is that? Do you feel like you can build really unique characters/skillsets with it or are they all variations on a similar theme?

I hope this gets fixed soon. The political map wasn't just important in game, it's also where the wiki pulled all of its semantic map images from. All the links to maps of each continent of varying sizes are also now broken on the wiki too :-(

I wouldn't mind taking part in this. I have a highly observant eye and served as a tester myself a few times.

Alpha code sent.

All out of codes myself now but there are other people on this thread and over at the M&F forums (see link in first post) who can help out :-)

As a side note, I'm still waiting for someone with a Theocracy to make Duke titles with no lands, but relevant to their religion... "Duke of Justice" or something, you know?

I believe Sorraine in the Far East has had her duchies named after Sartan related things for a while now. It adds a nice bit of flavour. Not exactly the same as making empty Duke titles but I expect that's a bit of a palaver!

Surprised this thread hasn't already been started yet. I'm sure there are alot of regular BattleMaster players who are interested in taking a look at Tom's new project, Might & Fealty. A closed Alpha of the game is running at the moment for those who have donated to the Might & Fealty Indiegogo campaign. It's early doors yet, but it looks pretty fun and interesting. It's a little like BattleMaster, but with even more freedom and player agency. Basically if you really enjoy BattleMaster, there is definitely something you'll appreciate here!

If, for whatever reason, you haven't donated yet but you'd like to take a look at Might & Fealty, feel free to make a request for an Alpha Invite key in this thread. I'm sure there are plenty of folk who will be able to help you out. I personally have three keys spare to give out so give us a holler and I'll PM you a code :-)

EDIT: If we run out of keys here, you can always check out the Key Requests / Invites thread on the M&F forums as well.

BM General Discussion / Woop, woop!

It's taken almost nine years but I've finally done it. House Osha has made it on to the Top 20 Most Famous Families List! I've been consciously trying to get on that list for the last four years or so but every time I got near it the bar seemed to get higher in terms of new fame points and all that. It's good to have finally done it. Now I just need to make sure I stay there! >.<

(Edit: Nearly nine years playing is ridiculous isn't it? Felt like I had to make a donation after saying that!)

Colonies / Re: Can the colonies bounce back?
September 27, 2013, 11:46:13 PM
Difficult question. While dividing the Colonies up has great potential, it remains to be seen whether that can lead to fun, dynamic realms. Although eight or so realms will lead to greater opportunities for many more people, joining a realm of five or so nobles isn't going to be as exciting as finding a bigger realm on another continent.

Of course, perhaps the best medicine would be to finally see the empire plan put into action. Efforts have been made in-game to achieve it for 9-10 months now but the Colonies still isn't quite there yet.

Actually, we already had that question, without the hint, and the bots were still getting in. Less than they have been since the server move, though, so I assume you didn't put it back in on the new version.

Would a variation on that theme be able to fox them? Something like input the name of the game twice.

This is what I used to love the old, pre-Chromium Opera for. I had literally scores of notes in the sidebar full of half-finished roleplays, saved letters, half-boiled plans. And the best part was that through Opera Link those notes were available to all other copies of Opera I used. Man I loved that browser. Alas, the speed enhancements of the new version were just too good to stick with Opera 12.
