So ends the life of Stheno, daughter of Rania.

:'(

I still hope you'll do your JeVondair thing and Gandalfize her.

In other news:

NEW REALM FOLKS! COME AND JOIN!

With 15 nobles requirement this might be the last chance to create a new realm. Don't miss it.

East Island / Sydgard

Sydgard is sooo fun! It reminds me a lot of when I first joined BM.

Shout out to fellow Sydgardians!

PS. I guess you can call it a recruitment thread? Or discussion thread? Syd has zero threads so this one is the first.

We can do both mystery and name at the same time. Just write below:

"Totally not battlemaster"

Yeah that is pretty much correct @Anaris.

@Kiran battlemaster hinges on player interaction. Whether you succeed in finding what you seek depends largely on whether you find people with similar goals or not.

Dwilight and Beluaterra would be the best bet. Not a good bet in any capacity but the best of the poor ones.

To be fair there have been some errant knights on rousing adventures and they did just fine.

@Kiran, battlemaster - contrary to what Anaris says - accommodates many different types of gameplay. Some of them more valid than others, most of them entirely possible. Sometimes what devs intend the game to be and what it happens to be are two different things, sometimes they're the same.

I for one played a loyal knight, a mighty general, a power behind the throne, a terrible spy schemer, a couple of adventurers, a rogue commoner asking to be beheaded with his outrageous behaviour, an explorer, a religious zealot. Sometimes I felt like game mechanics accommodate my needs nicely, sometimes I felt like I went against the current. Most of those roles were thoroughly enjoyable.

If your realm is just blind following of orders and you dislike it - change the realm. Or better still - change the realm. (Huh, a pun? A pun!)

@Anaris, I feel like you are too quick to tell people to leave. You might not be giving your adopted brainchild the credit it deserves. Especially considering that BM desperately needs new players.

Don't worry your earlobes about it. No good plan has to work in order to work. Though I have a sinking suspicion that this particular one will work out even better than intended in the end.

After all you now have some pretty resourceful resources at your disposal now. Quality over quantity thing and all...

Feature Requests / Re: Feature Request Guidelines

I don't think that would change much. At best you'd learn that this is in the works a couple of weeks earlier.

I for one recall it being common knowledge that there is intent on placing noblecount restriction on realms/new realms. Or it just seemed common knowledge to me.

Vita, brown on yours isn't brown but maroon/red.

My opinion on that matter is this:

IG chat would be awesome

Does that change your mind somewhat Mr. Anaris?

@Gildre

I 100% agree with you about everything. I just never brought it up myself because I've learnt my lesson the last time around - stuff's getting pretty damn toxic pretty quickly when you go to discuss stuff OOC (ie on the forums).

Battlemaster was never supposed to be Player vs Player but rather Character vs Character. Playing as if with a bunch of friends is one of the first rules of BM that is communicated to new players. And yet people still do !@#$ty things, carry grudges, bring IC stuff OOC or OOC stuff IC, form cliques and circles, keep track of people they like and dislike (as people and players, not as the characters they play).

I still find plenty of really good players, players I really enjoy playing with and that keeps me around. But the vicious, whiny assbutt factor is certainly annoying.

Oh and accusing Gildre of powergaming is like accusing eunuch of promiscuity. Unless done for comedic reasons it's absurdly dumb. Hang in there bro.

Only way I know for "push" notifications like this would be if we had an app.

PWA would allow for push notifications without an actual app.

BM General Discussion / Re: Lemon Fame 3
October 18, 2018, 09:39:24 PM
1. It's not one and the other. Likely it's one or the other. Most likely it utilizes "Reputation" fame (which is the combination of stats like prestige, honour etc.) or some kind of score that is calculated using arbitrary multiplier, e.g. prestige = 5, honour = 1. If total>legendary threshold you're a legendary hero, if not - sorry gregory.

2. It's not absolute, it's dynamic. It must be, since it utilizes either fame mechanics (from the "your fame" tab) or some mechanics that work in a similar fashion. So I believe the legendary threshold is either higher/lower depending on the most legendary person on the continent or it's higher/lower depending on the avarge legendary factor (fame/reputation/honour+prestige)

BOOM!

Sorry, I really didn't mean to blow minds.

What are GX folks up to now?

Is Perl the new GX?

Can I join?

Three questions at the price of one, weekend sale.
