Development / Re: The game really needs "confirmation option" for actions
« on: October 02, 2016, 07:34:38 PM »
Just throwing out a suggestion. The "Set Him Free" option and "Torture Him" option is kinda too near to each other.  Honestly, I would say that the dungeon actions are a bit quite dangerous.

Background information on this family.
Take his gold - dishonourable, but fast cash.
Set him free - no strings attached.
Torture him - may get you a look into his recent past, but is very dishonourable.
Deport him - not possible for this one; he is not a criminal.
Have him executed - you can not execute this one; he is not a criminal.
Talk with him - maybe you can convince him to join your realm or give you valuable information.

Above is a list of the dungeon actions that are not in order. The "Talk with him" option is below the "Have him executed". Maybe an orderly way would to separate the "do something to him" options away from the "background, talking, set him free" options.

Helpline / Re: Priest Claiming Rogue Region?

Hahaha, I will give it a try then. I post this question here to see if it really is what it is, it would be fruitless if in the end the results is nothing. It's gonna be days to even pull this alone but now that it is possible, it's worth trying.

Sorry for the late reply, I can't seem to reply from home, kept getting error messages.

As it has been awhile since my last character became a priest, I recalled what my priestess character did back then sometime ago. Hopefully it not changed that much since then.

My priestess character went and preached to the rogue region.

1) Gain majority followers in the region.
2) Calm the population.
3) Laud the realm. Obviously having the rogue region people hateful to your realm will not work for RTO. If people are hateful, the less chance they will join your realm.
4) No monsters and undead around or any armed troops.

Ketchum,

Did you manage to get the region to join you and became it's regional lord?

I'm trying that but asking around if there's other option. Technically, I believe it is like a random event (which doesn't entirely meant as an priest thing) where they would come out of rogue status and decided to join a realm, I saw it a couple of times. It is a long-shot but I just wanted to see if others have tried it with success.

I'm 95% certain that those options just aren't available for rogue regions. Pretty sure they used to be in the past, but priests where then abused too often during war times etc.

Gabanus,

I agree with you that's why I'm looking into another method of doing it. I saw the options, thought I could, asked permission first (in-game), then do it, wasn't allowed (system-wise). Quite a bummer actually.

Anyhow, I'm weighing the options on what a priest can do rather than what others can do and pinpoint what is what. Everything should take time and in my case, they should (or the system would be abused like you said) but it's kinda a great idea to see liberation in a priest character. About time I explore it.

Helpline / Priest Claiming Rogue Region?
« on: November 16, 2015, 09:39:05 AM »
I have a priest character and basically, there's a rogue region I would like to takeover since the followers are more than 80%. Of course I thought I could but then because it was a rogue region, I couldn't. So I thought I would buy the region (using family's money) but I couldn't (again because it was rogue). Anyway, I don't know or mind if the features are not there but my question is:

How can one take over a region (rogue) for their realm without taking over the region? Maybe on a priest perspective would be great. Maybe sing praise about the realm? Increase the production, morale, realm control (I'm just guessing, the region's stats is all in the red/black zone)? Just wondering actually.

BM General Discussion / Re: Character limit changes
« on: November 11, 2015, 06:23:51 AM »
I've read only about half of this post and a few from others. Generally, there are those who will stay and who will not. Those that will stay are not going to outweigh any positive reaction while those who leave will give a negative reaction to the game. I for one, with my current characters placement, would be impact by this change but I would nevertheless, will still continue. But what worries me most is those who left especially some who really built their characters to attune with mine (even though secondary, not all just remains it as puppet). I can generally speak up that a lot of players will hate artificial changes or forced to make one. We cannot however force a character out of an island and I really suggest if 2 characters in the same island were to remain, a note like, "You are not allow to take political position (be it Lord, Duke or Council position) due to the influence of your family member that has another position", would be suffice. Yes, some realms may fall but I also understand the predicament of the players because they would wish to uphold that 'little history', nevertheless. If this 2 characters in the same island is remain and by imposing the position restriction, you can increase the density of knights per realm (which would very much improve region output).

However, with the changes made (to be made), making this changes would affect gameplay but I'm not out to detest these changes. I would like to recommend a little tweak because if one can take away, one should also give. My recommendation may or may not be justified but I feel this is what is needed to be done:

1: Old characters
- There is surely more old characters around in the game and one very difficult issue is the hours in a turn, tuning it will get rid of the dependency of a second character using it as a puppet to attain scout reports or do what the primary character isn't able to do. We are already getting 16 hours per turn (8 hours per turn) and there's not much you can do even with that. It will be okay if one keeps it but it is a penalty if characters are on the move and I'm sure many are prompted for a second character because of this. Either release the age penalty or increase the age whereby the age penalty would come to affect. I justify this with the second character usually far apart in age with the primary character.

2: Scouting
- It takes an hour to scout which is costly. I would suggest whereby scouting doesn't take any hours at all because it doesn't make sense to take the character's hour when the scout is actually doing the moving. When one sends a scout, it will take an hour or two in real-time for the reports to generate OR instant reports but with the report being inaccurate. Increasing the perks of how scout would value a battalion where the scout judge by banners when an army is stationed (scouts shouldn't be able to come near a camp) and maybe by marching movement if on the move (more accurate), I believe would bring a very far ahead excitement to the game. Yeah, a bit complicated but it's an idea.

3: Priest
- Priest characters are counted as noble counts and the priesthood is acting less a noble in average, the character itself, is under-powered. Tuning the priest character and allow more restricted actions can bring out what religion can bring to the game. Battlemaster (the name says itself) is all about how one can bring war into a nation and I would very much like to see sparking more crusade war. This would not only make it more lively but enhance creativity (which I have seen a lot). Put in more function and the players will let the ball rolling. With the one per island change, a priest can be closed to useless and would not encourage people to get that character (some may disagree but I will go with agree to disagree). Lastly, take out the restriction where a religion falls when their last priest leaves. A priest should be a way to strengthen a religion and maybe a spirituous leader, nothing less. Without a priest, I can see the religion falling by itself, there's no need for expecting that religion to fall if there's no priest anyway. You would expect realms to be closing shops but I see religions will be impacted more if nothing is done.

All these may attune BM to a more heavier game but I would like to beg a differ as giving so much feature doesn't mean a player would use them all. And sorry if it's long  8)

Helpline / Adventurer to Noble

I have an adventurer that is 1 recommendation shy from being a Noble.

The question is:

Can she become a Noble while my Noble active is at it's limit now? Current limit is 3 (exclude the noble from war island). I don't want to later unable to play until I pause one of my Noble. Got tricked in this year's April Fool joke  >:(

Did you not suspect when you saw me just scanning and ignoring heals and repairs?  ;D I thought someone would notice that soon, but it seems that only Disturbedyang had it clear  :P

And obviously the framing affected the trust we could had in RPs. Too good I was in the framing side  8)

It's all a blur. I was basically inactive the whole time during injury, didn't really bother to read back what everyone said. Can't say for sure but even the Imperial side didn't try to fix, I think....... Anyhow, all I know is, towards the end, I can see but a handful that are still active.

Anyway, I now remembered that I overlooked one part of being a Medical Offficer and Android. Reason why I chose Android was needed two people to be attacked or something, old rules. Only noticed it was gone when game started, I thought I could be immortal then  :P

........ 5 vs 5??? Damn, this is really an overkill with the rebels having 3 force-sensitive...... No wonder all of you (Lefanis, Disturbedyang, Egamma) look suspicious!! When Egamma started framing here and there, I knew something is amiss. Egamma was too obvious being a Imperial Traitor.

I knew the first parity called, I thought that cause Lefanis (or Penchant) was confine, the second was confirmed because of Stabbity which made me identified confirmed 3 rebels. My mistake was thinking all the Stormtroopers were Imperials. Also D'Espana was also another surprise, there was no clue I could find to pin out a Rebel for D'Espana. Nevertheless, with being an Android, there's nothing I can do but heal. I seriously could identified at most, 3 rebels without any abilities since parity was called when 4 people was either confined or injured.

Anyway, good game, a bit long though and injury time was long  :P

If you're a loyalist to the Imperial, REPAIR THE MEDICAL BAY! You don't have to trust my words but get the Medical Bay fixed so that people can still be healed........

It seems quite funny how you trying to accuse me. Like i said, you came out and parity were called twice. So obviously you didn't expect Stabbity to come out and that took you by surprise and your first instinct is to get him back in. At least that's how i see it. I still am suspicious of Egamma that's for sure for everything he has done, but i think it might be only you that has the ability to call for parity.

I can understand that after confining me, egamma would be your next choice?? Your every move will now be observed for the next few nights........ I do believe it's you but I can't be too sure either....... Like I said, you're HIGHLY suspicious.......

But what is for sure is....... Egamma is a traitor from his framing........ And what you're saying now, I'm sure that you are too now........ I did not once said who is the rebel in confinement....... I only said either Penchant or Lefanis....... But you automatically knew it was Lefanis and was quick to give that conclusion......... Do you know something that we Imperials, don't???

Anyway, I tried my best to heal Elegant so that the Stormtroopers can quickly come back from injuries and we can avoid parity...... What I didn't know that under stasis, I can't do anything....... If you're a loyalist like you claimed, REPAIR THE MEDICAL BAY!!!

Anyway,

UNVOTE TO CONFINE STABBITY
KILL EGAMMA

I thought it was Stabbity too until I noticed that he was probably the reason why the Rebels can't go for parity......

Look, there's 3 rebels, that's for sure....... If my calculation is correct, one of the rebel is in confinement. Either Lefanis or Penchant ....... And it's confirmed that Stabbity is not guilty........ With Stabbity out, they couldn't go parity.......... So, egamma is lying ........ The last suspect I can't decide whether on Disturbedyang or D'Espana....... But what I can say is......... Disturbedyang is highly suspicious as Disturbedyang and egamma could be covering for each other....... Confinement is just putting one in a room so there's no risk there......... Their votes in Star Night 7 is fruitless and they know it..........

What I know is....... Rebels, you're all doomed........ With the 2 Stormtroopers that are probably out by my estimation, tomorrow, they will handle you all good....... You're gonna have a hard time getting your hands on this ship!!!!

REPAIR MEDICAL BAY

OOC : Repost as it's a quote in the previous message.

No, I was being framed........ It's idiotic to call parity the moment I got out........ Come on........ It had to be one of the Stormtroopers........ I got shot by a blaster......... Think about it........ Who was the only Stormtrooper that didn't get hurt and able to call on parity when all the other Stormtroopers are injured!?

VOTE TO CONFINE STABBITY
