East Island / The Island Lives!

There hasn't been much discussion regarding EI for awhile but a lot has happened!

The war for Fallangard is showing signs of life!  A new siege for Oligarch is certainly about to happen, and even Nivemus has found it's way into a battle or two!

What's next for the Island? Is hope for new realms in the north all but lost? Will Fallangard rise from the brink of extinction? Is Vix really a match for Eponllyn (and what does that say for the Perdan vs Vix conflict?) How many realms can Caligus fight?

I think it would be interesting if a General / Ruler could give awards to Characters - perhaps similar to the awards listed on a family page, except directly associated with the character.

Maybe they would only be available directly after a large battle or something like that?

I love Perdan! It's one of the original realms in the game still left and has a lot of history. Significantly smaller and weaker then it's ever been (as far as I know), but likes to think of itself as still being a major power and is vying to have a voice in the future of the island.

We've seen 3-4 nobles join in the past week, everyone is relatively active, and the war front is very close so no long marches or sitting around and waiting.  And while it's lost the capital some time ago, Aix has a great view of the ocean and nearby Lorient produces some excellent wine

As a recent returner to the game, i can definitely testify that during Fiona's last couple of weeks I was under the impression the whole continent was eager to gobble up what was left of Perdan.

No one had any idea that Sirion had marched south or that anyone would have supported Perdan in the pending war. Fiona did share some messages regarding Vix/Caligus and but the impression I had was that both realms were planning to march against us within 2 weeks. I don't think any of it sounded promising...but I may need to go reread them.

I would have expected the 'more experienced' or current leaders to have contacted the new King immediately instead of waiting for him to act, especially if there were complicated plans pending. Without outside advice, the leader's only choice is to do what he feels is best for the realm, and I think that's exactly what was done.

I'm sure the upcoming tournament could serve as a catalyst for a new war with some well-timed insults or a brawl or two.

Why not just find a way to increase players? Instead of all the heartache over reduced player, reducing characters, shrinking continents, etc. shouldn't we focus on growing the player-base?

Obviously that's easier said than done, but if the community applied the same amount of effort to recruiting players or marketing as it does to arguing over how to accommodate a reduced headcount we might grow the game.

I do need to admit that I've been back for 2 days after an 8 year hiatus and know nothing about what's going on...

Is there anyone alive? I just came back to the game and started a character on the EC and one in the colonies.

I haven't heard from anyone yet in The Electorate of Minas Thalion....is that typical for the colonies?  It's been two days.
